Daylight Saving, Issue 2: Part 2.1

Panel 1: In a bit of a flash forward, a list of locations of different theatres throughout Los Angeles are scrawled out on a map; each one with an X on the side with a corresponding caption box next to each one.

"Unique, but...not really what we're looking for. Good luck on your journey."

(Next to #2)
"We'd really love to stage it, once you have a script together. I'm just, if I'm honest...I'm not really sure it's a good fit for us. Good luck on your journey."

(Next to #3)
"There are some interesting parts, though the subject matter might be a little over our usual patrons' heads. Good luck on your journey."

"Our submission window for the 2000-2001 season ended months ago. You should try again later in the Summer. Good luck on your journey."

(Next to #5)
"That's a no. If you change a few bits here and there, make it a little more marketable...could be good. Good luck on your journey."
BRIE
(Off-Panel, thought bubble) Is "Good luck on your journey" some pointless prayer or something of this time?
Panel 2: Cut to a shot of Brie on the couch with a look of dejection on their face, staring up toward the ceiling as they come up with what to do next.

Few Weeks Later
BRIE
(Cont., thought bubble) Luckily, I filmed what would've been the bulk of the staged production. The problem there is where to show it that'd get the most attention.
Panel 3: They glance at the TV a few minutes later at an interesting news story that pops up on the screen.
ANCHOR
(Off-Panel) We're live in New Orleans with two of the stars of the Super Bowl halftime show in just under 2 weeks, Christina Aguilera and Enrique Iglesias.
Panel 4: Over the shoulder shot of the two pop stars talking with the local anchor in a bit of interview fluff at that point in time.
BRIE
(thought bubble)
How exactly does this merit any semblance of a news story? I know I shouldn't be judgmental to the simpler peoples of this century, but still...hard to do with that.
(thought bubble 2) Ms. Aguilera's crop top is pretty cute though.
Panel 5: Mx. Benoit flashes a half grin after a few moments of silence between this and the previous panel; a sudden brain storm of inspiration as the plan starts to come together in their mind.
BRIE
(Cont., thought bubble) Wait a minute- the Super Bowl! what was it they used to say about it back in AG Studies?
Caption
(HS AG Studies Teacher)
"A bunch of millionaires breaking their brains for others' enjoyment."
Page 32
Panel 1: Cut to a shot of the HS AG Studies Teacher in the classroom lecturing to the rest of the class with footage of one of the Super Bowls from the past playing in the background on a projector.
HS AG STUDIES TEACHER
(Cont.) That was a common criticism among some people of the age about the Super Bowl, for good reason as you can see. But to call it strictly that would be to demean some of the more communal elements.
Panel 2: The screen behind the teacher shifts to show a raucous Super Bowl party taken in whatever year as they shift to the next point.
HS AG STUDIES TEACHER
(Cont.) At its peak, billions of people across every inch of the civilized world would watch the game. It was for decades a vital bridge for humanity to find harmony in an increasingly unharmonious world.
Panel 3: The teacher chuckles lightly as the screen flashes a snapshot of the infamous Nipplegate nonsense; their comment eliciting an equally sized chuckle from the rest of the class.
HS AG STUDIES TEACHER
(Cont.) And sometimes it served to display the full, utter disharmony of the world at that time.
(Bubble 2) ...I know it's easy to laugh at how incredibly stupid this was. But remember everyone--
Panel 4: Back to Brie on the couch in the same setting/layout as the end of the previous page.

(Cont., HS AG Studies Teacher)
"The time this happened was simpler, and- in my personal opinion- absurdly stupid than we know today."
BRIE
(thought bubble) This could really work! Especially with some of the tech I brought in.
Panel 5: They hop off the couch and head back toward the kitchen, fueled by the excited energy that had been building up in the previous panel.
Panel 6: Close-up of Mx. Benoit snatching their cell phone from the edge of the coffee table a split second later.
