Daylight Saving, Issue 2: Part 2.3

Page 35

Panel 1: Homescreen snapshot of the computer screen; the mouse drifting up to the Files in the upper left corner.

Panel 2: With the window open, we see a USB icon with the words "Darksaber" underneath it. As was the case in the previous panel, the mouse is drifting around the icon a split second before clicking on it.

BRIE

(Off-Panel) Still the perfect name...!

Panel 3: A separate, secure Internet browser opens moments later, connected to the sound effect of a "VWOOSH!" with the corresponding address/search bar on top.

Panel 4: The bar fills up a beat later with the words "ABC Los Angeles," along with a quick flurry of fingers tapping on the keyboard.

Panel 5: The screen shifts to one with a single image of the affiliate's location and address on a Map grid, and the words "No Webpage Exists" underneath it.

BRIE

(Off-Panel) Figured that much. But it got me inside their online infrastructure. So- net plus!

Panel 6: Brie squints in ponderous thought a beat later, thinking as they come up with a way around the issue.

BRIE

(Cont.) Now for the really tricky part...

Page 36

Panel 1: A three-part set of panels that shows an evolving transition of the search page from Panel 5 of the previous page. It starts with a slight change with the Map, zooming in on the location in question. Then...

Panel 2: ...A 3-D image of the shell of the physical building appears on the screen, blurring the edges of the scene as it sculpts out the final result--

Panel 3: A 3-D layout of the building the ABC Los Angeles station, highlighting (along with the basic room by room schematics) the entrance and different elevator systems as well as potential exits.

BRIE

(Off-Panel) Bingo!

Panel 4: Mx. Benoit flashes a healthy grin at the series of lucky breaks, leaning back in the chair ever so slightly as they speak.

BRIE

(Cont., partly surprised) I didn't think the quality would be this good, given the ancient tech the Darksaber has to deal with. Hopefully the quality keeps up in the printing process.

Panel 5: A few minutes later, the young person's spark of joy is interrupted by an annoying pop-up window that appears in the top right corner: "Pages cost $.50 per page." In the other corner, you can see a man leering over in Brie's direction with flirtatious intention.

BRIE

...Porra caralho!

Panel 6: Slight close-up on the mystery man a few moments later, getting up from the couch and moving toward Brie's direction with the flirtatious energy from the previous panel.
