Daylight Saving, Issue 2: Part 3.3
Page 41
Panel 1: A shot of the security droid manning things at the Company back in Issue 1; the back of one of the workers partly visible in the background.
Caption
(Cont., Brie)
"Just replace the droid with creepy eyes that smelled of rotted wheat paste..."
Panel 2: In a similar type of layout, just at the front office to the TV station, we see a Receptionist greeting one of the staff coming in.
Caption
(Cont., Brie)
"With someone with a great loathing of their job who probably is being paid less than their actual worth, if it's like any other time in this century."
Caption
(Cont., Brie)
"Also someone who may be considerably more chatty, which could be troublesome."
Panel 3: Back to Mx. Benoit in the apartment, and in the same level of thought as the end of the previous page.
BRIE
(Cont.) Especially if they ask for some form of identification. A possible way through it would be to bribe the individual to gain entrance.
Panel 4: Hypothetical snapshot back in the TV station, taken moments after the bribe in question, showing Brie being taken away by a couple of LAPD officers.
Caption
(Cont., Brie)
"Problem there is, given my complexion and what I read in history books, I suspect it would end...quite badly."
Panel 5: In the same area, during another hypothetical scenario, we see the young person come up dressed in a less-than-convincing deliveryperson uniform.
Caption
(Cont., Brie)
"A disguise is plausible, though there's still the issue of chattiness and a lack of decent improvisational skill on my end that could spell trouble."
Panel 6: Back in the apartment a beat later, Brie comes up with a sudden brain blast connected to one of the words from the previous panel.
BRIE
(half grin) Wait a tick- The Glossy!
Page 42
Panel 1: We see Mx. Benoit in their bedroom, pulling out a wristwatch-like device from one of the inner pockets of the emptied suitcase.
Caption
(Cont., Brie)
"Please tell me I didn't leave it in 2100..."
BRIE
(sigh of relief) Thank the Goddess!
Panel 2: A few beats later, they slip the Glossy on their right wrist and glance over to the left.
BRIE
(Cont., to business) Quick check to see everything's still good and golden.
Panel 3: A split second after pressing a button to the side of the device, Brie completely disappears and leaves for a reader a mere outline of a shadow.
BRIE
(squeals, then into experimental curiosity) Works brilliantly! I wonder if it stays this way when I'm holding something.
Panel 4: Action shot of Mx. Benoit a minute later, grabbing their pillow in the midst of the brief pause in experimenting.
Panel 5: A two-part set of panels that starts out with them pressing the same button they did between Panels 2 and 3 to activate the Glossy; the other hand holding the pillow.
Panel 6: In the second part, as we saw in Panel 3, Brie disappears in a glossy bit of white with an outline of the young person all the reader is.
BRIE
Brilliant! That takes care of a big future stressor.
Panel 7: Slight close-up on Mx. Benoit as they reappear just as their phone rings off-panel in the other room.
BRIE
(thought bubble) Leaving me with little, yet equally loud, near future stressors...
