Daylight Saving, Issue 3: Part 2.2

Panel 1: Slight close-up on Mx. Benoit with a melancholic look on their face, recalling the details behind the film to her for the first time.
BRIE
(Cont.) It--It's actually the last picture I had of her before...
KAYLA
(Off-Panel) Her heart gave out, right?
BRIE
(Bubble 2) Yeah. It's why I got a little--protective there. I wanna be sure it doesn't somehow break.
Panel 2: Kayla examines the device quickly, while looking at her partner via the periphery.
KAYLA
(understanding) I get it. I have a necklace from my grandma who died a few years back. She was the only member of my family who embraced my queerness when I came out.
(Bubble 2) Also, I gotta imagine trying to ask for any help from Radio Shack would be a pain in the ass.
Panel 3: Brie lets out a chuckle, quickly shaking their head; the warmth of the relationship flowing from the chuckle and the slight grin that accompanies it.
BRIE
Actually, from what I've seen, the Radio Shack is quite the useful source for tech repair. At least regarding phones anyhow.
KAYLA
(Off-Panel) True...
Panel 4: Back to Ms. Leary lowering the device to her side, giving Brie her full attention for her reply.
KAYLA
(Cont., flirty) Now, for the sweet "dessert," if you're feeling up to it..
Panel 5: A two-part set of panels that moves back to Mx. Benoit with a smile that covers an inner hornets' nest of anxiety in their stomach.
BRIE
(thought bubble) Oh Gods, Oh Gods, Oh Gods...
(verbal) Oh, um, in regards to that. There--There's something I've been meaning to...
Panel 6: In the second part, the anxiety flows quickly out of the young person's face upon hearing the phone ringing off-panel left.
BRIE
(Cont., turning to the phone) I should get that. One moment.
(thought bubble) Thank you phone...

Panel 1: A three-part set of panels that starts out a few moments later, showing the young person on the phone answering from just outside their kitchen. You can hear the sound of heavy breathing popping up from the other end.
BRIE
Hello...sounds like you have a cold. I recommend a good potato soup and plenty of orange juice. And a self-examination on the nonsensical dance that is masculinity.
(thought bubble)
That'll break the poor putz's brain for awhile. Or start something worse...hopefully the former!
Panel 2: In the second part, a few days later, they're standing closer to the living room; their clothes are more female presenting compared to the previous panel.
BRIE
No thank you, Mr. Musk. I have no desire to join your flawed, idiotic enterprise that'll do far more harm than good in the world. Also, you're not as much of a supreme genius as people say you are.
(thought bubble) ...Might have said too much. Then again, with his ego, he may not notice!
Panel 3: In the third and final part, in a club bathroom, we see Brie (in a slightly fancier outfit that incorporates male and female setup) on their cell phone.
BRIE
(intrigued) The Advocate? Yeah, I've heard of you. I read your stories on the trial of Aaron Henderson and Russell McKinney. I thought they were quite fascinating. The Trump thing- much less so...I just don't particularly trust him as a potential ally. A personal opinion you guys should keep in mind in the future.
(Bubble 2) An interview? I'm a little busy at the moment. I'd be open to it though in a month or so, as long as there isn't any photo spread. I...
Panel 4: Action shot of Mx. Benoit stepping out of the bathroom a few moments later, wrapping up the rest of the conversation.
BRIE
(Cont.) Hmmm...few weeks, maybe a month. I'll keep you in touch when the schedule opens up on my end...your number's on the ID. Have a good day- bye!
Panel 5: They hang up a short time later, and starts to slide the phone back into their purse.

"So. Was that another work thing, a creeper thing, or a celeb/clinger-on thing?"
