Panel 1: After getting their bearings together enough a short time later, they soon realize all the photos they'd taken in that burst had been erased.

(Kayla)
"There's two dozen messages on your phone and growing. Some for those after what I did, which- I’m sorry, by the way."
Panel 2: Back in Kayla's car on the way back to the apartment, she glances down at the phone lying on the cup holders as she drives. Brie's in the passenger seat, just beginning to get their head together.
KAYLA
(Cont.)
But the rest…pretty sure a few of them have a New York area code. Maybe one of them’s the Daily Show…I’ve always wanted to meet Jon Stewart! He just seems so effortlessly cool and—
Panel 3: At a stop light a few moments later, she spots an interesting phone call that pops up as it rings. At this point, Mx. Benoit is back to some semblance of normal.
KAYLA
(Cont., curious)
What phone number has a 0000 at the end?
Panel 4: Slight close-up on the young person holding the phone and glancing at the number on the screen; the street continuing its movement from left to right as the car revs back up.
KAYLA
(Cont., Off-Panel)
Probably just a prank call, or a telemarketer. Nothing to worry about, I think.
BRIE
(niggling at the back of their head)
I don't know...
Panel 5: Brie ends up answering a beat later; their face showing curiosity, surprise and a sense of unease connected to their partner's previous suggestion.
BRIE
(Cont.)
Hello?

(Kym)
"The ******** White House called you?!"

Panel 1: Cut to a short time later where Brie is on Kayla's couch, chatting with their friend and partner about what was discussed in that phone call.
BRIE
(slight correction)
The State Department, actually. In particular, the person who works for the head of the delegation to the COP in November. Still surprised the hells outta me.
KYM
(from the receiver)
Same here! We’ve been gunning for a big break for awhile…
Panel 2: Back in Kym's office, going through some paperwork in regards to the legislative side.
KYM
(Cont., playful smirk)
Sure, it probably came from Slick Willie already looking for an exit more than the smack you leveled on him and his VP in the interview. Win’s a win though…
Panel 3: Mx. Benoit sighs in mid-level frustration at the development, picturing in their head the very moment Ms. Clarkson was talking about.
BRIE
First off, I wouldn't call it "smack" as much as constructive criticism that'd be plainly easy for anyone to see. And secondly--
Panel 4: The young woman throws up the stop sign a beat later, trying to put the kibosh on the explanation and steer things back to business.
KYM
(interjecting)
No intended shade, bud. You weren't wrong with anything you said. Hell, I wanna get that quote about Bush and his oil buddies stitched up on a pillow for the pad...
BRIE
[CHUCKLE FROM THE RECEIVER]
KYM
(Bubble 2)
So, what was the offer exactly?
Panel 5: Back to the young person after a brief pause, glancing at the notes on the coffee as they reply.
BRIE
Join the Delegation as an Advisor the Science side, help hammer out the country's priorities to other countries to get a good deal by the end of it.
KYM
(from the receiver)
...Not bad. Annoyingly vague as hell, but still not bad
BRIE
(Bubble 2)
I'd be low on the pecking order. So, getting in touch with anyone higher up from the other countries would be difficult to pull off.
Panel 6: Kym gives a side nod to the point, though with an important extra counter for her friend to consider.
KYM
True, true. But if there's anyone alive who can pull it off, given what you've gone through to get here, it's you.
BRIE
(from the receiver)
Thanks, buddy...
KYM
(Bubble 2)
No problem. I'm guessing you'll be back from Wannabe Vegas tomorrow.
BRIE
(Bubble 2, from the receiver)
Yeah, I will.
