Panel 1: We reach a chill part of the conversation moments later; Jaz raising her sandwich up to her mouth, pitching an important question for her brainy compatriot.
JAZ
(Cont.)
So...any ideas what you'll say when you meet them?
Panel 2: With a nonchalant look on her face by the question, Ms. Noor glances back as she chews on a spoonful of curry she ate in the middle of the previous panel.
FALIS
Didn’t have much of a plan, honestly. I was just thinking we’d geek on the science, the environment...hopefully fill her in on how asinine the whole ECT is and should be obliterated. How different regions in the EU are better suited for--
Panel 3: Jaz flashes a side grin as she chews, steering the conversation back to reality for her friend.
JAZ
(interjecting)
I'm sure they'd be all for it, bud. But Brie's also a person from a hundred years in the future. This is kinda the perfect time to ask what the future’s like, what particularly your future might look like--
Panel 4: Cut to a shot of Brie in their office at A Better Normal, reacting with some exasperation at some disappointing news on the G-School.
BRIE
Tell me this is what passes for a cruel, stupid prank in the year 2000.
Panel 5: Standing a few steps in front of the young person is ANDRE, glancing at a piece of paper for memory's sake as he reiterates his previous answer.
ANDRE
I wish I could. Sen. Carsten will support it as long as we give prominence to a display of Intelligent Design in the school- to help project the "right values" as we build out--
Panel 6: Mx. Benoit snorts out in frustration, glancing at a point to the right of the subordinate; their left hand stimming underneath the desk as they speak.
BRIE
(scoffs)
Hard no! I'd rather fail miserably than sell out to a borderline nonsensical belief structure...what about the senator representing Chico Kym met a little while back- Ms. Skjei?
Panel 7: Andre flashes a bit of nerves; his focus pulled fully away from the document toward his superior.
ANDRE
Um, she...she was open to the idea. But her schedule was so packed that she wouldn’t be able to give her full throated support in Sacramento till late next month, I believe, is what Ms. Clarkson told me.

Panel 1: Brie ponders the situation to themselves, trying to discover what to do next.
Panel 2: They then reach into a drawer of their desk in order to pull out their main notebook.
ANDRE
(Off-Panel)
There's also some chatter from the team leading the fuel standards fight that a bill may hit the Natural Resources committee sometime next year. Though we'd have to--
Panel 3: Slight close-up on Mx. Benoit a few moments later, looking over at a section of the book; the text from Andre blurred out as a result of the thought process.
BRIE
(thought bubble)
I know it’s really risky, but…her name's in the book. Gotta trust there's a reason behind it. I—
Panel 4: A few moments later, the employee's train of thought returns to prominence enough to bring the young person back from within their head.
ANDRE
(Off-Panel)
Boss?
Panel 5: Cut to a shot of the young man, seemingly looking for one last bit of information to guide his next step.
ANDRE
(Cont.)
What do you wanna do next?
Panel 6: Brie stands up out of their chair and starts to cross left around the edge of the desk; their hand grabbing the strap of the purse, while the other hand is gripping the now closed notebook.
BRIE
Tell them they have the green light for whatever they’re asking....
