Daylight Saving, Issue 5: Part 4.3

Panel 1: Slightly wider shot of the bullpen area shortly after they made their respective decisions. Via a scoreboard in the top of the panel, the results are as follows: 40 in Favor, 20 Against.
Panel 2: Brie smiles with relief and a jolt of happy energy at the result; their back straightening slightly as they speak.
BRIE
Alright then...thanks for your continued faith, guys!
Panel 3: We move to a shot of Rachelle at school, gathering her stuff after another completed performance. You can see some exhaustion and relief on the young girl's face as a result of all that.

"Here's hoping I can continue earning that faith in future."
Panel 4: A few moments later, her attention is pulled in the direction of a flash of yellow energy coming from the off-panel right direction.

(Reporter #1)
"You have any idea what this press conference is about?"

(Reporter #2)
"**** if I know! Could be about the lack of mention of the environment in any of the debates. Could be them answering some of the nonsense Fox has been saying all Summer.”
Panel 5: Action shot of Mx. Benoit stepping through the portal a few moments later, holding a notebook and the projector- ready for work.

(Reporter #1)
"Doubt it. If it were the debates, they would've dropped a press release or did some type of interview after the debates and did it then."

(Reporter #3)
"True. But ya honestly think anyone would've listened after that "Lockbox" and "Strategery" nonsense those stuffed shirts threw out? Especially after SNL."

(Reporter #2)
"Good point..."

Panel 1: Cut to a shot of the reporters standing outside the Millennium Seed Bank, conversing amongst each other; a section of the others visible in the background.
REPORTER #1
Whatever it is, I can tell ya one thing- it sure as hell won't be anything negative about those eco-radicals popping up in the Primaries over there.
REPORTER #2
Yeah...
Panel 2: Reporter #3 pipes in with a question that had been nibbling in their minds for awhile.
REPORTER #3
Has anyone proven whether or not that girl running for governor in Ohio's in cahoots with Brie?
REPORTER #2
(tamping it down)
A friend of mine from the Plain Dealer's says they've been looking at it since the primary- clean as a whistle. No connection to Benoit or to A Better Normal.
REPORTER #3
Huh. Still, seems a little weird how all these candidates have popping up ever since they—
Panel 3: The conversation slams shot a beat later, spying the subject of the press conference approaching the podium. You can see a collection of their fellow journalistic colleagues in the background, engaged in the same action.
Panel 4: Cut to a shot of Faris approaching a microphone a few moments later; Brie standing at her side with the holographic projector. Drifting in the bottom of the panel view is a foggy "Who's this...?" representing the bulk of the assembled press there.
FARIS
Hi. My name is Faris. Some of you may be familiar with the protests I've done outside my school in Brighton. Not many know that me and my mum came to England from Somalia in search of a better life, both for us and for me. It's what powers a lot of what I've been trying to do.
Panel 5: Slight close-up on Ms. Noor as she continues on with her prepared remarks; the nervous energy of the moment growing with each passing second.

(Cont.)
But I look at all the climate deniers in power in Parliament and elsewhere, all the continued apathy from people who fuel this belief that we can’t do any better as a society that gets me really angry sometimes.
(Bubble 2)
Brie and I agreed that the best way to hammer that point home, before Cop 6, is to exhibit for you and the world at large what's at stake. It's why they chose the Millennium Seed Bank as the site for this press conference and what we plan to present.
Panel 6: Cut to a shot of Mx. Benoit at the projector, turning the device on after getting a subtle body cue from the young girl between panels.
FARIS
(Cont., Off-Panel)
I learned in the library last night that this place was designed to withstand a lot of things like nuclear bombs or asteroids. Unfortunately though...

Panel 1: From the projector, a massive exterior version of the Millennium Seed Bank appears before the awed reporters and camera people. Above the image is the day's date- October 31, 2000.

"...They never prepared for Angry Earth seeking vengeance.
Panel 2: The date starts speeding quickly a split second later; the general scene remains unchanged. Suddenly...
Panel 3: ...a massive tidal wave moves into view from left to right, crushing the exterior building right at August 5, 2037.
Panel 4: The remaining flood of metal and concrete is clumped together in a kind of burial plot. You can see thick blankets of snow starting to fall on it, along with a gathering of ice in the area. There's also a faint crackle coming in the direction of the stage.

(Faris)
"And now, here’s Cabriena Benoit!"
Panel 5: Close-up on Brie, as all this goes on, glancing down at their purse- the source of the crackle from the previous panel.
BRIE

That feels like…****!!!
