Daylight Saving, Issue 6: Part 1.2

Page 128

Panel 1: At the check-in area, Faris spots Mx. Benoit and runs happily in the young person's direction. You can see her mother in the background, cautiously glaring at the scene.

FARIS

Cabriena!!

FARIS

(Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 2, Bubble 1)

Same when it comes to being called Reese.

Panel 2: The two of them share a hug a few moments later; the mutual set of love between the two of them present at that point in time.

BRIE

Reese- hey! One of the few people I let hug me.

Panel 3: The setting widens slightly to let in Gina joining the scene and general conversation. You can also see Kayla walking in in the panel left area.

BRIE

(respectfully, to Gina)

Mrs. Noor, a pleasure. How are you finding the Hague?

GINA

Similar to Brighton, but without the pleasant vision of the sea nearby

BRIE

(Bubble 2)

Yeah...English coastal sights are quite amazing, to say the least.

FARIS

What's that smell?

BRIE

(Bubble 3)

...That is America's "Finest."

Panel 4: Mx. Benoit turns their attention back to the young girl with one little bit of info they know from the ride there.

BRIE

(Cont.)

Now, the work day tomorrow ends at about 6-7 P.M. But for me, given the bulk of stuff I'll be needed, I suspect I’ll wrap up at about 1 P.M.

Panel 5: We move to a shot of the conference hall the next day, packed with the full contingency of each nation's delegation chatting. You can see the logo for Cop 6 in the center of the panel view.

(Cont., Brie)

"That should leave you guys plenty of time for sightseeing, while I—“

Caption

(Faris)

“Snog your partner in the hotel room!”

Caption

(Gina) “Faris!”

Panel 6: Cut to a shot of Brie in their finest pastel purple pantsuit, along with the rest of the US delegation; the representation of their mood in the form of a basic smiley face above their face, along with a bulleted list of goals [G-INSTITUTE, ECT SCRAPPING, FUEL STANDARDS, PHASING OUT OF FOSSIL FUELS, MANDATORY SPEED LIMIT] the young person had going into it.

(Faris)

“…She’s not wrong!”

Cop 6- Day 1

Panel 1: A three-part set of panels that follows the young person as they're doing the work throughout the course of the day. As each panel goes, the bold lettering of the goals starts to fade...

Panel 2: ...and the emoji starts to crack and warp toward a more perturbed/annoyed delineation, buoyed only by Ms. Noor's optimistic energy.

Panel 3: Finally, near the close of the day, you can start to see some of the bottom points of the list start to fade from view (though not entirely).

Caption

(Kayla)

"Maybe it was asking a lot to think there'd be movement after one day, even with all your good luck."

Panel 4: Cut to a shot of the lovely couple walking through a section of the Panorama Mesdag later that night, enjoying the artwork on display.

BRIE

(weary nod)

Maybe. But still would've been nice to see some scrap of optimism to hold on to amongst the conversations within the delegations- for Reese's sake, as well as mine.

KAYLA

You could try going after one of the other lower junior staffers in those delegations, rather than focus squarely on the big boys.

Panel 5: Mx. Benoit ponders the new bit of information, going through in their head possible candidates.

BRIE

Hadn't really thought about it, honestly- worth a shot. And I think I might know someone who could help there.
