Old Scars, Chapter 1: Part 2.2

Page 9 Panel 1: Miriam raises her eyes considerably at the question, puzzled by its randomness while also partly worried about the context hidden underneath it.

MIRIAM

Do I look like I would know...! How many do you see?

GREM

(from the earpiece) 7-8 grunts I can see, many more than time given the string of Jeeps on the road. Each of 'em's armed quite well given the situation.

Panel 2: Action shot of the immortal Irishman a beat after finishing the steering from the previous page. He starts to piece together a plan, typing away on a small console next to the steering column.

GREM

(Cont., reassuring and confident) Nothing the Unicorn can't sweep up with little effort.

MIRIAM

(from the earpiece) And little collateral damage, I hope?

GREM

(Bubble 2) I'll do my very best, though they may not respond in kind.

MIRIAM

(Bubble 2, from the earpiece) Agreed. Good fortune, Gremlin.

Panel 3: We move back to a shot of the Unicorn a few moments after his last line. You can see the barrel of the device's "horn" start to warm up in preparation to...

Caption

(Grem)

"And to you, warrior mermaid...!"

Panel 4: Moments later, an ice blue laser beam emerges from the barrel of the gun at the front Jeep in the line; its engine instantly frozen shut by the blast.

Panel 5: Cut to a shot of the Jeep seconds later, taking a sharp turn to the right in order to keep from crashing. You can see the other couple of cars behind it coming to a hard stop behind it, one of which is hit by another ice blast.

Panel 1: An assembly of soldiers at the front of the line leave the cars and turn their weapons skyward at the Unicorn, led by an English general pointing the way.

GENERAL

FIRE!

Panel 2: Action shot of the Unicorn zipping past the flurry of bullets from the soldiers' guns.

Panel 3: Close-up on the device in the midst of the battle. You can see a small compartment open up next to the ice gun.

Panel 4: From the hidden compartment, a series of football-shaped pellets emerge and drift at super fast speed down to the contingent of soldiers.

Panel 5: Some of these little pellets are taken down by the soldiers' bullets; a fiery "KABOOM!" from off-panel left, representing the bullets hitting the Unicorn. But there are some that break through...

Panel 6: ...[in close-up] landing in front of a tire belonging to one of the Jeeps.
