Old Scars, Chapter 2: Part 4.2
Page 45 Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. Grem gathers his senses again, holding the bloodied piece of wood in hand as he speaks.
GREM
(Cont.) Didn't know you had teleportation powers.
SYM
(notices the quickly healing wound) I could say the same about your healing powers.
GREM
(Bubble 2) HA! Touche...Not sure why you couldn't have brought me in alongside that 'porting.
SYM
(Bubble 2) It's not how those powers work.
Panel 2: We move to an action shot of the two of them continuing the conversation as they step out toward the broken doorway moments later. You can see Mr. Allen stretching his left leg out to regain movement and circulation.
SYM
(Cont., curious) Speaking of which: how did you come across your powers, if I may ask?
GREM
That's a--a long chapter in an even longer book.
(thought bubble) One stained with more tears than the Atlantic Oceaen.
(Bubble 3) So. You do to get the Commie pigs off our arse before this stylish little entrance?
Panel 3: Close-up on Sym a beat later as the two of them enter the hallway proper; a glint of pride on the faeman's face connected to what happened.
SYM
Just a little illusionary enchantment I grow back home, among other bits.
GREM
(Off-Panel) Nice...! What other enchantments you grow, if I may ask?
SYM
(Bubble 2) Let's discuss that at a less...life threatening time.
GREM
(Off-Panel, Bubble 2) Fair enough.
Panel 4: We move to an exterior shot of the KGB grunts out on the streets ready to charge at a contingent of "Russian Orthodox clergy" on the other side.

(Cont., Grem)
"How much time you think it bought us?"
Caption
(Sym)
"10 minutes if I had to guess, before they get wise and come back."
Caption
(Grem)
"Right...Let's make 'em count, then."
Panel 5: Back to the hallway where the two of them as they make the turn to another hallway a beat later. You can see Grem holding the Fragarach in his right hand; the blade dipping down out of panel view.
GREM
(Cont., pointing it out with his opposite hand) That's the door that goes to the dungeons, right?
SYM
(nods) Yeah. A little weird we've yet to see the vukodlak to now.
GREM
(Bubble 2) You say "weird," I say "happy bounce of luck."

Panel 1: Grem raises his sword above his shoulder a beat later, seemingly ready for the proverbial hammer to drop on them.
SYM
(glancing at Grem's pose) Yet you lean toward that Fragger of yours.
GREM
(correcting) Out of instinct...
Panel 2: A handful of feet away from our heroes, you can see the vukodlak officer running toward them with sharpened claws at the ready.
Caption
(Cont., Grem)
"And my natchy sense, which are picking up a big whiff pissed off doggo vibes right behind us."
Panel 3: Sym turns around, flashing a similar attacking pose upon spotting the creature coming at them.
SYM
I've got a few tricks I can use, if you need an assist--
GREM
(interjecting) No. I'll do the stalling, you free your fam.
SYM
(Bubble 2) You sure?
Panel 4: Close-up on Mr. Allen with a casual side glance, giving a quick agreeing nod to the last part of Sym's statement.
GREM
100% bloody certain. Diving into danger to help innocent people in need...
Panel 5: Action shot from the rear of the immortal Irishman charging at the vukodlak a beat later.
Caption
(Cont., Grem)
"That's a day that ends in Y for me!"
