Old Scars, Chapter 3: Part 4.3

Page 71 Panel 1: Action shot of one of the people walking from the crowd toward the entrance to the tree (partially visible in the left of the panel). You can see the pair of Locals from the end of the last issue watching on nervously, along with the rest of the crowd.

"There's the stuff they ended up mentioning about the hotshot. What the press missed though was him boasting how he was gonna turn into the 'Superman of Finland' to the crowd just as he was walking in."

(Grem)

"Jesus! Masculinity is a massive bloody joke."

Caption

(T)

"To say the least!"

Caption

(Grem)

"What happened afterwards?"

Panel 2: We move to a shot of him a short time later stepping inside; a rush of light coming out from a section of the door.

Caption

(T)

"Nothing for about an hour and a half. Then suddenly, something sprouted out of the ground right in front of the tree..."

Panel 3: Five feet from the door, a bed of flowers suddenly appears gathered in a circular manner. Next to it, you can see a note attached to a metal pole.

Caption

(Grem)

"What was on the note?"

Caption

(T)

"'Let this be prologue before the judgment begins...'"

Caption

(Grem)

"Huh. That's not arse clenchingly ominous!"

Panel 4: Back in the present, Grem lets out a stilted chuckle in regards to the story. You can see a bunch of nerves building up in his stomach, picturing the similarities to battles of the past.

GREM

...You have a place where you store booze on this ride?

Panel 5: T points to an off-panel point on the console as they continue driving, revving up slightly as they speak.

T

There's a button underneath your seat, to the left.

Panel 1: A two-part set of panels that take place over the course of a handful of seconds. Grem glances down in the first one just as T instructed at the end of the previous panel.

Panel 2: In the second one, shortly after pressing said button, a small box filled with ice appears containing a chilled bottle of Sima

GREM

(curious) "Sima...?"

Panel 3: T smirks, glancing at their new friend knowingly at the question. You can see a tone of reassurance in their answer as well as they speak.

T

It's a new kind of booze we have in Finland. I know it's probably not the type of booze you're used to. But it is every bit as good as it is.

Panel 4: Action shot of the immortal Irishman holding the bottle with his right hand; the left on the cap, unscrewing it with ease.

GREM

Cheers...!

Panel 5: Slight close-up on his face moments later, taking a deep chug of the drink; his head tilted to the ceiling, along with his gaze.

Panel 6: He lowers the bottle from his lips a few beats later, letting out a happy sigh/chuckle combo at the taste.

GREM

Not bad...

Panel 1: Cut to a rear shot of the Timmi seemingly timed with the action from the end of the previous page, though in actuality it's taking place a short time later.

Caption

(Cont., Grem)

"Has a hell of a kick!"

Caption

(T)

"That's part the drink, part the Timmi's Hydrogen/Atomic hybrid system."

Panel 2: We pull back a little more to catch more of the car as it roars on to its top speed down the road.

Caption

(Grem)

"I thought atomic power was mostly a government thing. How were you able to gather enough for something like this?"

Caption

(T)

"There's far more to 'atomic' than what the Manhattan Project wrought."

Caption

(Grem)

"A fact I know quite well. And the hydrogen...?"

Caption

(T)

"Extracted out of Finland's most bountiful of resources: snow!"

Panel 3: Following the pattern of the previous panel, we see a full shot of the Timmi's rear as it moves at super speed toward the setting sun; the flames belching out from its four tailpipes.

Caption

(Grem)

"Would it be forward to say we've just become great friends, Mx. T...!"

Caption

(T)

"Hahahaha...as long as that's where it remains, of course."

Panel 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. As the car fades out of distance a few moments later, we see the last block of the conversation.

Caption

(Cont., T)

"Anything more than that would take a couple of more...add-ons than you currently possess."

Caption

(Grem)

"Understood, and agreed. Onward to adventure!"

Caption

(T)

"God, you're a weirdo."

Caption

(Grem)

"...Proudly so!"
