The Boo-Ya!, Season 2- Issue 1: Part 4.2
Page 21
21.1: A powerful blast shoots out from both of the respective cannons, missing the Boo-Ya! by the very barest of margins.
21.2: Back on the bridge, in the middle of the ongoing firefight a short time later, the Madam grows ever more frustrated (and partly respectful) by the display from their opponent. You can see Mani peeking in from the lower right panel corner, firing back at the same point in question.
MADAM
Okay, this is going from annoying to angrying.
MANI
Agreed. The force field on the ship tells me this Merc’s got a hells of a deep pocketed boss pulling the strings.
MADAM (Bubble 2)
My fears exactly. Robbo, we still got that big bomba we picked up on Vreahn a little while back?
ROBIN I think so, yeah. Should be able to break through that force field without the instant threat of death–
21.3: Suddenly, another violent jolt bursts through the bridge emanating from one of the M-Clahmper’s blast as it finally makes contact on the side of the ship.
21.4: The good captain glances up at the ceiling in Capaldi’s direction, pushing herself back up to her feet.
MADAM
(pained)
Lemme guess, weapons are out?
CAPALDI (from the ceiling)
Aye. At least the big one we needed to finally squash ‘em enough to escape.
21.5: Cut to Mani at the other end of the bridge, clutching her left arm as she sits back down at her station; an idea popping into her head, courtesy of the display at her station.
MANI
The Hyperdrive’s still functioning, at least enough for one big kerklam out to safety.
21.6: Back to the Madam after a few moments of thought on the idea, sliding back into her chair. You can see her left hand gently gliding up the corresponding armrest as she speaks.
MADAM
A flicker of good news in a pile of Phino shite…hit it!
Page 22
22.1: A two-part set of panels that highlights the individual stages that lead up to the Hyperdrive’s activation; the full, respectable amount of damage the ship took on is in view. As this goes on, you can see the would-be assassin’s ship revving for what they believe will be the kill shot.
22.2: In the second part, which shows the Boo-Ya! taking off for whatever point of space is on the other end of the portal, the blast from their guns zips past its target by a slim margin.
CAPALDI (4Meta Caption) And here comes another crate of Phino shite…!
22.3: Close-up on the M-Clahmper aboard their smaller ship a short time later, turning to his comm placed to the left of the steering wheel after sending a report to the mysterious Bandyra.
M-CLAHMPER
Good news: your little leak’s been plugged up for good. Bad news: I ran into some meddlesome betches who bolted with the damaging info.
BANDYRA (from the comm) Did you get a look at who these “betches” were?
M-CLAHMPER
(Bubble 2)
Not really, no. I did run into a big chubby pink thing with dark hair and a big chunk of armor on- kinda reminded me of one of those Boo-Ya! ladies I heard about on the news.
22.4: Meanwhile, in an office back on the Capitol, we see the person who goes by the moniker Bandyra listening to the news. The reader can’t spot any clue though in terms of their physical appearance, gender or clothing.
M-CLAHMPER
(Cont., from the comm)
Eh, probably just a trick of light or something.
BANDYRA
Right…definitely interesting, somewhat.
M-CLAHMPER
(Bubble 2) I can swoop by and finish the job for free. As a little bonus, and a hint to get me onto your other–
BANDYRA
(Bubble 2)
Don’t rush yourself. You’ve done more than enough…I’ll notify you in the morgen for another assignment.
M-CLAHMPER
(Bubble 3)
Coolio. Thanks for the…
22.5: The mystery person presses a button underneath their desk a split second later, timed at the same moment the M-Clahmper leaves the call. You can see a flicker of yellow light coming from a window off-panel, symbolizing the would-be assassin’s ship millions of miles away.
CAPALDI (4Meta Caption)
And deuces to the soulless putz…! At least, I think that’s how it goes. Anyway–
