The Boo-Ya!, Season 2- Issue 2: Part 2.2

Page 9

9.1: Cut to a shot of the image Madam is spying- Robin in handcuffs, right next to an equally panicked Staehlia, taking a glimpse at the helmet on the ground; the swirling winds of utter panic growing with each surprisingly unpained breath. In the background, you can see one of the officers coming to in order to fight back.

ROBIN

The hell…? Please tell me we didn’t just crash in the middle of this planet’s bloody zombie armageddon. All the times I bashed people online for how overrated zombies are, I really don’t want that to be how I die…

9.2: Her note of anxiety is disrupted a few moments later by the good captain’s trusty blade, stabbing the officer in the shoulder before they could’ve launched an attack.

MADAM (Off-Panel)

Then consider us the bearer of brilliant flarking news!

9.3: Staehlia joins the scene on the panel left side as the Madam pulls the sword out of the soon-to-be-dead body. The sound from the driver’s side of the cruiser is a little more prominent at this point.

MADAM (Cont.)

That buys us roughly enough time to get the hells out while the getting’s good.

STAEHLIA

Where is Nessa?

ROBIN Yeah, figured she’d be knee deep in the middle of…

9.4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The noise from the driver’s seat finally reaches the level that the others inside can hear the thumping and punching going on. Meanwhile, the slain officer’s colleagues start to approach in the background.

STAEHLIA

(satisfied)

Ah…question answered!

9.5: Exterior shot of the front of the cruiser, now in the middle of a highway that’s just out of the way of the forested section. You can see the vehicle start to wobble and swerve as a result of the business…

9.6: …Then it goes from swerving to a more wild/dangerous type of driving. You can see part of the rear of the cruiser start to catch some air as a result of this, which all leads up to…

9.7: …The cruiser flipping over and exploding; four shadows quickly escaping from the left side of the vehicle to avoid the blast.

10.1: We see the crew looking on at the wreckage a few moments later, bruised and bloodied and sore over what had just taken place in such a short time. You can see the faint glow of some type of halogen lamp coming from the top panel left corner.

10.2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The Madam grabs her comm once again to chat it up with Capaldi. Staehlia, meanwhile, looks in the panel right direction at something which catches their eye between these pair of panels.

STAEHLIA

Looks like some semblance of life…one that may not try to off us- with hope.

MADAM

(opportunistic)

May also be a pretty good place to hunt for some supplies

STAEHLIA (Bubble 2) Are you certain that a wise move, given what we have jut been through?

MADAM (Bubble 2)

Cap, how long till the Regen’s finished?

CAPALDI (from the comm)

Horut 44, ma’am.

MADAM (Bubble 3) More than worth the risk.

10.3: Action shot of the crew taking off moments later in the direction of the limits to what, in the Genfluuxian language, is a sign for the city of Del’Miehn.

MADAM

(Cont., Caption) At the very least, we can at least relax and regroup, settle on what the hells to do next. I wonder–

NESSA (Caption, from later on) How the flark can you breath without the helmet?! Stahl said there’s not enough oxygen here for your brain not to char to a crisp.

10.4: Cut to the crew in town on their way to whatever the building ends up being. Robin nods nervously at the question with a great deal of apprehension, answering as much as the confusion and nerves can allow. Next to her is Staehlia providing a little extra on top.

ROBIN

(shrugs) Shite if I know, honestly. My best guess is it has something to do with the genotherapy Staehlia’s had me on.

STAEHLIA

A decent hypothesis, in my view. I will try to examine a sample of blood I still have in your lab once the Regen is finished and we are skyward again. I do not see any reason to stop the treatments, however, in the meantime. At least until you sprout bird wings or reptilian scales.

ROBIN (Bubble 2)

Fair, though with the scales…is it possible I could keep them? I’ve always thought lizards were cool, and–

STAEHLIA (Bubble 2) That would be fine. I should warn you though, it is also plausible you could morph into a gelatinous blob and explode into squishy bits.

10.5: Ms. Cartwright shoots a worried look in the direction of her friend, shifting the anxiety on to a brand new target. The other two members of our crew, meanwhile, spots the location of the building off-panel.

STAEHLIA (Cont.) But only slightly more…!

NESSA

Oh, thank the Gods- it’s a dive bar!

10.6: Action shot of them walking through the doors to what looks like a dive bar, at least from the outside. You can see a handful of city regulars already coming in ahead of them, along with a few others heading out.

NESSA

(Caption)

So, we’re thinking the putz in black from Mowannis has some governmental pull, right? Or is high up in the military?
