11.1: Cut to Nessa, Madam and Robin at the bar a short time later, drinking and shooting the shite till the ship’s repaired. The only one not seen is Staehlia who is off in another part of the bar at the moment.

NESSA

(Cont.) That type of weaponry, the fighting skills…all that screams Alliance stooge to me.

MADAM

Yeah, that seems a cinch at this point. But who is pulling their strings? We know it’s someone with some military push, given Sayenne’s former employment in the Defense ministry. Still leaves a fairly long list of those who wanna do us harm.

ROBIN

(agreeing nod)

You’d think, whoever it was, they’ll send a lot more after us. Especially given what we did with the Spear, and the whole Baarlax drama that made the TA’s intelligence service look like crap. I gotta imagine a ton of their agents itching to off us for the name- or at least the ched.

11.2: Slight close-up on Nessa reaching over to the communal nacho bowl in the middle of the grouping.

NESSA True. But don’t forget most Capitol politicos are also sleazier than Zilgo arseholes looking for a way up to the big job. Our corpses would make for a nice bounce up.

11.3: Cut to a shot of Staehlia stepping out of the bathroom as all this is going on, side stepping from a grouping of different “unsavory” type characters that were passing by in the same area.

MADAM (Caption)

True indeed, Ness. To find out who’s behind it though, we need to decipher what was on the tablets from Sayenne’s place. We crack that, the proper answer will show up.

11.4: They take a few steps back to the bar when a mysterious sound from off-panel right catches the young person’s attention.

11.5: We see a red glow coming in from the window of an office building nearby. You can see part of a shadow belonging to the person who had a hand in it.

11.6: Action shot of Staehlia quickly heading back to the crew with a sense of worry connected to what they had seen.

STAEHLIA

We are in a considerable amount of trouble. We have to leave this bar. Now.

12.1: Madam looks at her crew member carefully, recognizing the level of panic and anxiety deep on their face that only those who’ve known them awhile could spot.

MADAM Where are they?

MADAM (Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 2, Bubble 1) How long do you think we’ve got before whoever’s inside come?

12.2: Back to Staehlia standing in the same spot as the end of the previous page, inches from the rest of the crew. You can see a little more of the panic tics popping up on their left hand as they speak.

STAEHLIA

An office building across the street. I saw only one person inside, but I have a sinking suspicion there are more inside.

STAEHLIA

(Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 1, Bubble 2)

It would depend on if they noticed us here already, or if there is a spy already here who notified said person of our presence. In either scenario, 5 or 10 minuyats seems a decent guess.

12.3: Nessa chimes in mid-chew with a thought that pops up listening to things. You can see Ms. Cartwright’s head in the background nodding with some agreement to it.

NESSA

Why not spring that time bubble thing you used on the Clahmpher. Or– don’t you have that icer grenade you invented?

ROBIN Yeah! Just whip that thing out at the entrance of the building. Then we can slip out, use the ‘Port, and–

12.4: Suddenly, a loud BOOM from the off-panel left direction interrupts the question and brings their eyes squarely toward the window where…

TA OFFICER (Off-Panel) Attention, local purveyor. You are harboring fugitives of the Tristellar Alliance.

12.5: Behind a makeshift forcefield placed right in front of the entrance, you can see a half dozen soldiers armed to the teeth and ready for a fight; the officer in the right-center area, holding the bullhorn-like device barking the orders out.

(Off-Panel right) Excuse me!
