The Boo-Ya!, Season 2- Issue 2: Part 3.2

Page 15

15.1: Cut to an interior shot from the bar a short time later of the officer from the end of the previous page, standing alongside the officer LEE_AINGE who we saw back in Page 12. You can see other officers in the background of the shot, gathering their gear from the wrecked establishment before leaving.

TA OFFICER #2

No, ze’am. We were able to launch an NTD just before they could get out of sight. The first blip of data of their position should be coming in momentarily.

LEE_AINGE

Good good…

15.2: Flashback to the ladies quickly boarding a bus shortly after we last saw them; the saucer-shaped drone in the top right corner of the panel shooting a tiny dart from the center of its craft, silently penetrating Robin’s upper calf.

TA OFFICER #2

(Caption)

What should I tell the battalion commander?

15.3: Action shot of Zx. Lee_Ainge taking a step away from the conversation, reaching to their right where their comm is located. The Officer raises his eyebrow with a sense of puzzlement connected to his superior’s blase attitude.

LEE_AINGE

Tell them to stand down and return to base. Send me a link to the data and I’ll make sure it gets sorted by the right person.

TA OFFICER #2

You sure, ze’am? This feels like the perfect opportunity to wipe this scum off the face of the–?

LEE_AINGE (Bubble 2)

It will be handled, 2nd Lieutenant. The way it’s done is none of your concern.

TA OFFICER #2

(Bubble 2) Yes, of–of course. My apologies…you want me to tell the SkyJos to send another cruiser down to pick you up?

LEE_AINGE

(Bubble 2)

Unnecessary. I can handle things on my own.

15.4: We see the soldier a short time later in the hallway leading to the bathroom, typing something into the keypad which pops up in a separate text bubble to Bandyra- “Encountered the fugitives at a bar on Genfluuex. They weren’t apprehended, but they were able to land a tracker on the hu-mann of the crew. I can reach their ship in an halb-horut, if needed, and blast ‘em.”

15.5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. They quickly scan the reply that pops up moments later, pondering the response from Bandyra- “Not yet, Leftennant. Just track behind them and report.” The reply from Lee_Ainge reads, “Okay…seems a bit weird to waste this opportunity to dispose them right here and now.”

15.6: We move back to the bus partly seen in the flashback area, showing the ladies and enby of the Boo-Ya! in the back of the vehicle waiting as incognito as possibly heading back to the reserve and the ship, respectively.

BANDYRA

(text bubble)

“Don’t you worry, Lee. From what my allies in the Joint Chiefs office have told me, Crush Roe is a matter of datums from commencing. All you need is to do is continue the strategy of distraction before we can level the first blow.”

BANDYRA (text bubble 2)

“The Grooonga I delivered should provide precisely that.”

16.1: Leftennant Lee_Ainge emerges from the bar entrance a short time later, flinging a disc from their back just after the other troops have left the scene.

16.2: Over the course of a handful of moments, a ship forms right in the middle of the road; the soldier standing a few steps in front of it. It becomes immediately clear here that the ship looks identical to the one the M-Clahmper was flying around in back in Issue 1.

16.3: As the ship takes off moments later into the night sky, meanwhile, back in the friendly confines of the Boo-Ya!...

STAEHLIA

(Caption) We should try to go back to this Genfluuex in the future.

16.4: Cut to Staehlia in their lab, examining a readout of data that is laid out on a tall LCD screen to the left of them. In the background, you can see Robin is wearing a gas mask, strapped to a kind of medical all-in-one machine.

STAEHLIA

(Cont.)

I smelled a finely broiled BeeCarlum back in the pub, which I have not had since my teens back on Titan.

ROBIN

(from the mask) Was that that pasty pink mess that looks and smells like melted unicorn poop mixed with rotten eggs?

STAEHLIA

(Bubble 2)

The taste is far more appetizing than its look.

ROBIN (Bubble 2)

Ah. Kinda like haggis.

STAEHLIA (Bubble 3) Precisely like that!

16.5: They turn their attention to the screen and to business a beat later, typing something in and corresponding to the next part of their experiment.

STAEHLIA

(thought bubble)

Anyway, thank you for your patience once more with these tests. I know I said I would finish the atmo tests after the tenth attempt. But I had a brain blast, and figured it was worth the try…for science.

(Bubble 2, speaking)

Commence Test 10: A 78.08% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide mixture…

16.6: Cut to a slight close-up on Ms. Cartwright taking in the air as it pumps into her mask. At first, there doesn’t seem to be much of a positive or negative effect externally or internally.

16.7: Then, moments later, things start to shift. You can see a heightened queasy come across the young woman’s face; her hand coming into view, reaching out toward the mask.

STAEHLIA

(Off-Panel) Oh, quaells…!
