The Boo-Ya!, Season 2- Issue 3: Part 1.1

Page 1

1.1: A wide introductory panel helmed by Capaldi at the center, standing on the bridge and narrating to the audience what had happened in the past couple of issues.

CAPALDI

Yunnes jlat–that’s “good day” in the Killem language. I thought I’d change things up a bit compared to the last issue. Now, in case you’re joining us- welcome! Here’s what’s happened: Things got really messy, even by our standards, since you last left us. In the middle of bailing Staehlia’s friend/lover Mani from prison and getting her on her way, we got yanked into some older than us drama between the TA and an independent matriarchal Amazon planet outside its borders called O’Julana. The former started talking in the shadows- as they love to do when it comes to a group of peoples they despise- about cleaning up the latter in a big bloody fury battle. A good soul tried to shine a light on it, which is where we came in…and she promptly got off. We nearly fell the same way twice- once by a merc type, and another by some Army jackboot.

(Bubble 2)

There was a sense among the ladies and enby that the Vice Chancellor’s office was fiddling around puppet master style, but nothing definitive (outside of past history due to the whole Spear and, ya know…not being fascistic arseholes). Then news popped up that a fleet of SkyCruisers were heading toward O’J, and…

1.2: The AI stops talking and looks off-panel right at a point of dialogue that pops up in that instant; the 4Meta glint we saw in the previous panel fading toward its normal configuration.

ROBIN

(Off-Panel) You really think the Prime Chancellor would go along with invading a planet just so his Number Two could get the job somehow?

1.3: We move to a shot of Staehlia at their station, nonchalantly addressing their friend with a full layout of history in their mind as they speak.

STAEHLIA

The history of politics within the Capitol is long and considerably bloody. A coup on another planet would be a rather tame way by historical standards for someone to initiate Beschuldigig and ascend to the Prime Chancellorship.

NESSA (Off-Panel) Yep…

1.4: Nessa nods lightly at the explanation, filling in a little more of her friend’s explanation; their stool turned in the direction of the young human woman.

NESSA

(Cont.) My mater, when I was a kid, told a story about some Reform Age dud-o who spent halb a dohzeen jahrs sabotaging a Prime Chancellor by slow dripping a brain eating poison that got ‘em to the Beschuldigig.

1.5: Cut to a shot of Robin minutes after we left her, fully taking in the explanation from her friends.

ROBIN

(deep sigh)

Fucking hells…Alliance history is absobloodylutely mental!

MADAM

(Off-Panel) Yep yep. Right now, we’ve got bigger trees to chop.

1.6: Standing not too far from Ms. Cartwright, we see the Madam a beat later hopping over the railing and moving toward the captain’s chair. From the off-panel left area, as this goes on, you can see a BEEP sound effect pop into view.

MADAM (Cont.)

Namely, the probably now colder reception the royal fam on O’Julana’s gonna take to some rando visitors given what the Tassholes have done.

2.1: The Killeman glances over in Staehlia’s direction a split second after the beeping stops. You can see part of the captain’s chair visible in the panel right area.

MADAM

It’s not an attack beep. That’s a good sign…

STAEHLIA

(slightly surprised) Indeed it is. It is from Theodosia, the intelligence woman we met on Mowannis.

MADAM (Bubble 2) Nice…put her on screen.

2.2: Cut to Theodosia popping up on screen from the comfort of her ship, manned by a larger crew than can be found on the Boo-Ya!. You can see the back of the Madam’s head in the foreground addressing her throughout.

MADAM

Good to see you not in a box, or whatever you guys bury peeps on O’Julana. Not sure how though…

THEODOSIA

(light chuckle)

Just a lucky break and good work, that’s all.

MADAM (Bubble 2)

Ha, right. Speaking of “lucky break…,” we’re actually a handful of minuyats from your fine planet.

2.3: Back to the captain a beat later, heading back to her chair as she finishes up the rest of her thought.

MADAM (Cont.) Given the biz going on with the TA, I was hoping you might talk things with your compatriots and help somehow smooth things over with your royal family so they don’t try to obliterate us.

2.4: Theodosia is a bit apprehensive to the request, though not enough to throw a brick wall to the request.

THEODOSIA

I can help get planetary defense to not shoot you down. But given the activity on the defensive and diplomatic sides, it’s all the help I can provide y’all. I do have someone though that I can get in touch with straight away who can engineer a meeting and help make sure you guys put your best foot forward.

MADAM (Off-Panel) What’s their name?

2.5: Cut to a modest townhouse somewhere on the western part of O’Julana a short time later. We see a woman KAYR’LX outside, fortifying a section of armor outside in preparation for potential arms fire from a TASF attacker.

THEODOSIA

(Cont., Caption)

Kayr’lx. She’s the sibling of one of the agents you saw on the Ashmaker.

MADAM (Caption) You talking about the prisoner who dropped Sayenne’s name on our laps? THEODOSIA (Caption 2) One and the same…no need for worry- zhe’s good peeps.

2.6: Close-up on the O’Julanian glancing up at the sound of rocket engines descending from the sky not a far distance away.

THEODOSIA

(Cont., Caption) I’ll send you the address. Zhe’s the best womxn I can spare to pull it off…best of luck!
