The Boo-Ya!, Season 2- Issue 4: Part 1.3

Page 5

5.1: A two-part set of panels that consist of two halves of the single image that Ms. Cartwright referred to at the end of the previous page. The first part shows a contingent of soldiers and support staff working around a patch of flat grassland amidst the beautiful scenery from the last page. In the second part…

ROBIN

(Caption) I’m getting a bad vibe from this. Something that HQ didn’t factor in.

LADY JERNIEV

(Caption)

What do you mean?

ROBIN (Caption 2)

It’s hard for me to describe it. I’m patching the image your way right now.

5.2: …we see the device in question- a massive drill towering over a dozen feet in the air, with a triangle and oval shaped barrel at the very end of it. You can see it pointed skyward, though one can assume not for very long.

LADY JERNIEV

(Caption) Huh. Doesn’t look that different on my end. You sure this isn’t an overreaction on your end? I know you’ve got a little military experience on your planet. But there’s a big difference between whatever backwater nonsense Erties face and what happens up here.

ROBIN

(Caption 2) About 85% sure. There’s something familiar about the design…maybe I’ll think of something once I pop back on the station.

5.3: Close-up on one of the soldiers on the ground glancing up skyward as this goes on, noticing the weird dot in the air thousands of miles above.

LADY JERNIEV

(Caption)

Sounds good on my end. Patching your data back to base, then we’ll snap the Tether back into position and get ya back–

SOLDIER

(yelling) Spy–SPY!

5.4: Robin notices the rush of soldiers scattering on ground level, and starts to tense up over what that might mean; a faint glow of green from the part of the suit where the scan is initiated.

ROBIN Umm, any chance that can happen a little sooner than that J?

LADY JERNIEV

(through the comm) What are you talking about? I…

(Bubble 2, noticing the noise for the first time)

…Ah, nevermind. Give me a quickie tick!

5.5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. We see the young human woman shot back skyward as a result of the same photonic tether we saw in the previous page.

Page 6

6.1: A two-part set of panels that follows her being shot back toward the station minutes later. In the first half, you can see the hatch open in preparation for Robin’s imminent return.

6.2: In the second one, we move to a close-up of her slipping inside the hole a short time after that.

ROBIN (yelling) Son of a…

6.3: Minutes later, Robin slams hard on the floor just in front of the platform which is partly visible in the panel right area. You can also see from the same area a couple of techs moving toward her.

6.4: Lady Jerniev joins the scene a few moments later just as Ms. Cartwright takes off her helmet for the first time; the beads of sweat covering a good chunk of her face, which is pleased to be back in a safer area.

LADY JERNIEV

How are you? Any of ‘em get a good shot at you?

ROBIN

I’m good. No big wounds on me, just sore and extremely sweaty- apologies to the techies repairing and cleaning the damn thing.

LADY JERNIEV (chuckles, Bubble 2)

…Did one of the grunts snap an image of you?

ROBIN (Bubble 2)

No idea. But with my luck lately…

6.5: Cut to a section of the Joint Chiefs office back on the Capitol as this goes on. In particular, one section that is focused on monitoring activity on the O’Julana front. We see a young officer looking over a screen containing something reminiscent of an RSS feed of each of the events on the planet’s side.

ROBIN (Cont., Caption)

I’d say it’s a pretty bloody good bet they did.

6.6: A little news item pops up on the top of the feed that catches the private’s eye- a report from the tech from a Sonic Drill in the area of Tienckjen (the same one Robin had just been looking at) of an “O’J spy in a metal suit” spotted at the site. You can see them reaching out to click on the story for a detailed report on it.
