23.1: Madam shrugs nonchalantly from the Lady’s projection emanating from the office comm, smirking at the humor and the bits of truth within it.

MADAM Just looks that way ‘cause it’s the pirate life. Besides, I always save a qua-kon for a firm arse, a grilled Hanhta, and some morons to fight.

23.2: Action shot of the Lady chuckling, taking a step and glancing over at something off-panel left as she mounts a response.

LADY JERNIEV

You and me both, sestra! I might know a spiritual kin who could help you with what you guys are getting into.

MADAM (Off-Panel) What’s their name?

23.3: Cut to a profile shot of AIRPERSON DYIO PETRA busily working on their cruiser in a hidden base on an undisclosed part of O’Julana a short time later.

LADY JERNIEV (Cont., Caption) Dyio Petra. They’re an Airperson in the Armada, and we dated for a tiny bit. They’re a very dear friend who, even prior to the war, is one of the greatest rescue pilots of all-time. They saved over 400 peeps in the past two decades, including two dohzeen trapped by a TA brigade near the Pogunds as well as a contingent of 30 miners from a nearby mining settlement overrun by nasty worm-like creatures called Kuushkers.

23.4: Dyio stops working a few moments later, looking at our protagonists as they approach them.

LADY JERNIEV (Cont., Caption)

If you wanna get outta dodge in one piece with this plan you’re cooking up, they’re the one to go to.

NESSA (Caption)

Any other…surprising bits about this Dyio person we should know now?

23.5: A wide shot with the ship in the background of the answer to Nessa’s question. We see a contingent of five clones of Mx. Petra standing in a line; the original one a step ahead of the overall line.

CAPALDI

(4Meta Caption) Airperson Petra has what you hu-mahns would call a “Mutant ability.” But up here in the less absurd portions of the universe, it’s a proper medical condition called Cincdrox Syndrome. It affects .005% of species in known space, primarily more blob-like ones like the Ion’klee, though not exclusively as Mx. Petra showed.

CAPALDI (4Meta Caption 2)

Cincdrox allows the person to summon up to five clones of themselves for up to twelve horuts for whatever needs may arise. If they try to keep it going after those twelve horuts, it…well, it’s hard to explain it properly in a single caption box.

24.1: Madam and Nessa are on the opposite end of the scene from the end of the previous page, reacting with surprise and a little excitement for the scene on the whole.

NESSA Okay, that was pretty flarking awesome…! You must be fun in a fight.

24.2: Back to Airperson Petra walking toward our two protagonists; their other selves merging back from both sides toward the main person in center.

AIRPERSON PETRA (cocky shrug)

That I am. It’s the reason I haven’t lost one since my CD sparked up in my teens. Now, this thing Belana told me you guys are cooking up…

24.3: They stop a few steps away from Madam and her number 1, already eager and ready to join in on the mission.

AIRPERSON PETRA (Cont.)

I’m in.

MADAM Really? You don’t wanna hear the pitch?

AIRPERSON PETRA (Bubble 2) No, I’ve got a good gist of the inner meats here. It’s something to do with that W4X thing Intel and your hu-myen found a little while back, right?

NESSA (Bubble 2) Yeah…

24.4: We move to a shot back on the Simones of the massive planet killer weapon right at the tail end of a test run that had preceded it somehow; its needle jabbed deep into the planet’s surface. You can see the scenery around it at the tail end of a violent bit of shaking as a result of the needle.

AIRPERSON PETRA (Caption) That’s all I need…let’s talk strat.

NESSA

(Caption)

Thank the Goddess…I’ll get the booze!

24.5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The scenery stops shaking moments later; the needle retracting back out of the soil and into its normal configuration inside the machine, signaling the end of the test.
