The Boo-Ya!, Season 2- Issue 5: Part 3.1
Page 13
13.1: Cut to the two of them looking at the ship a beat later- Madam to the left, and W-r’Ren to the right- going on to the next part of things.
W-R’REN (explanatory)
Three LuxLines popped by our system incognito in fear for whatever the Alliance had planned. One was able to bolt unscathed before things went over the abyss, the other was shelled in the southern hemm in the first datums of the war, and the other took shelter here after one of the RAM-3’s earliest raids here. But unfortunately…
MADAM
(filling in, interjecting)
The duddo at the helm died, yeah? Thus why you’ve not been able to use this nice bit of shiny.
W-R’REN (Bubble 2) Essentially, yeah. Are you on the pilot for your ride, or…?
MADAM (Bubble 2) That’d be Nessa.
13.2: Slight close-up on W-r’Ren a beat later, taking on a slightly more serious tone than we saw in the previous panel as xe shifts to a vital part of what they view as the plan.
W-R’REN Okay. Ness, it takes a little over 25 minuyats for the engines to rev up and the rest of the ship to get safely airborne. The problem though is that it’s not that far off from their usual attack schedule. Is there anything your ship has to help buy us time for liftoff, if necessie?
13.3: The proverbial light bulb flashes above the good captain’s head, along with a knowing smile.
13.4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A beat later, Madam goes to her comm to bring the idea to its full execution.
MADAM (into the comm) Hey Ness, remember that big bomba we nearly used on the Clahmper chasing us?
NESSA (from the comm) Yeah…
13.5: At the other end of a shelter, relaxing with a cold drink, Nessa’s eyes grow wide as the same light bulb of an idea Madam had in Panel 3. Robin is seated across from her, listening as it goes on.
MADAM (from Nessa’s comm)
If we drop it at the right place, theoretically, it should be able to total the RAM and keep the shuttle in one piece.
NESSA (smirks) …Gotcha, captain. Lemme finish my drink and I’ll head to one of the Buoys here to loop in Capaldi to chisel out deets.
MADAM (Bubble 2, from Nessa’s comm) Sounds good, Ness.
13.6: Close-up on Ms. Cartwright a short time later, flashing a slightly worried expression at the conversation.
ROBIN Wasn’t that the same bomba you said would obliterate a good chunk of where it hit?
Page 14
14.1: Madam joins the same scene a beat later, attempting some semblance of reassurance to her crewmember’s worry.
ROBIN (Cont.) How is this any bloody different from then? MADAM We can put more distance here than we could with the tiny scrammer like the Clahmper was driving.
ROBIN (Bubble 2) I think it might be best to have me out in the cargo bay, ready to zip off and help this LuxeLine in case there’s–
14.2: Quick glimpse back on the young human woman’s face, still displaying the same worry from before with a tinge of fear that connects back to that moment on the ship from Issue 1.
MADAM (Off-Panel)
Dial it back a few notches, mate. You don’t need to superhero it this time. It’s just an emergency move, one that–after chatting with Capaldi–has a decent chance of working. Besides, after that biz with Lady Jerniev, I think keeping yourself in one piece would be a plus for ya.
14.3: Robin lightly scoffs back, trying to deflect the conversation away from the sensitive-to-her topic.
ROBIN
(nervous) I–I’m not sure what you mean. We’ve only really hung out a few times after scans. It’s not like I…
14.4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel, following a brief nervy pause from Ms. Cartwright following Panel 3. We see her dip her head toward the floor, relenting in agreement to the idea.
MADAM (Off-Panel)
Yeah, no need to get in your head about it. It’s not like anyone would blame ya- J’s an absolute top shelf beauty in my book!
14.5: Close-up on the good captain’s face a beat later, flashing a warm smile at the end of their reassurance display.
MADAM (Cont.) Besides, if I’m being honest, I’d prefer keeping you here as an extra pair of hands at the wheel if Nessa runs into trouble.
14.6: Cut to a shot on the ship of Staehlia and Capaldi in weapons storage, working on the big bomba in question a short time after Nessa sends word of the plan.
MADAM (Cont., Caption)
Stahl and Capaldi have a good handle onboard with the tech stuff.
CAPALDI
(4Meta Caption) A partly accurate summation, aye. One that was missing the complexities that come with handling tech, regardless of its origin.
STAEHLIA (groans) The Cgroon is too big to patch through the plating into the yield control.
