The Boo-Ya!, Season 2- Issue 6: Part 2.1

Page 7

7.1: Slight flashback to the beginning of this whole thing, focused on Nessa as she appears via her own teleportational energy. You can see walls and a few frames and plaques in the background through the bright glow.

7.2: Action shot of her a short time later setting forward with the task; her gaze tuned to her personal comm as a reminder for one part of Nessa’s role.

NESSA ‘Kay, I’m roughly a dohzeen metros from the power center, according to the map. All I need is to zip a couple lefts and a right, and that’ll…

7.3: Midthought, she hears something closing toward her in the off-panel left direction that springs Nessa’s natural defensive stance.

TA SECURITY GUARD #1 (Off-Panel) You think you’re gonna get a shot at one of those snazzy palaces?

7.4: Hidden behind the door to a restroom, Nessa peaks out as a pair of guards start to walk the opposite side of the hallway in mid-chat.

TA SECURITY GUARD #1

(Cont.)

Broster, you’ve gotta be richer than the Eye, a politico, or a flarking Clevnaball player to afford one of those…

TA SECURITY GUARD #2 (interjecting) Not if we slip into the Housing Lotto that’s bound to happen when we finally take this shite planet over. I know somehow at the Home Department who can hook us up there. I’ll drop a line to ‘em after Chevy gets done…

7.5: The two of them stop a few feet from our protagonist and the barely opened doorway at the presence of a mysterious sound near their respective position.

NESSA (trying to keep calm, thought bubble)

At this angle, I could probably take them out in a few minuyats. The only problem is it’d probably bring more of these blank slates my way, and possibly delay Dy and the cap’n from the big goal. So, for now, just keep quiet…

TA SECURITY GUARD #1

You hear that?

NESSA (Bubble 2, thought bubble)

…SHIIITTEE!

7.6: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A few moments later, the pair start back off down the hallway with Security Guard #2 leading things off.

TA SECURITY GUARD #2

(shrugs)

Probably just the atmo control fritzing out. Let’s book it to the caf for luncheon while we can.

TA SECURITY GUARD #1

(agreeing)

Works for me…

NESSA

(thought bubble) Ah, thank the Goddess for overconfident stupidity!

8.1: Nessa steps out of the bathroom the moment the pair of guards walk out of view; her mind quickly shifting back to the task at hand, especially after the smell she was subjected to.

NESSA (thought bubble)

That smell was horrifying–and cuts deeper than a spinning L-Class sword! Another few minuyats of that and I’d have wharfed on the tile. Anyway…

8.2: Close-up on her a few beats later; the queasiness of the previous panel gone, and her focus back on the comm studying the map that is laid out on it.

NESSA Back to business!

8.3: Action shot of them taking the left a split second later, glancing at the same time in front of her just in case another pack of guards happens to come soon.

8.4: A short time later, after the completion of the final right, Nessa stops in front of something and looks up.

NESSA (thinking, feeling along it) A wall? Dy didn’t mention much about a wall at this point. Maybe it’s a hologram, or–some hidden door here that somehow can...

8.5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Just as she finds what, in her mind, is the lock in question, a security camera visible in the upper right corner of the panel view starts to train its focus on our protagonist.

NESSA There we go!
