The Boo-Ya!, Season 2- Issue 6: Part 4.3

Page 23

23.1: Staehlia turns the monitor off and delivers a less-than-enthusiastic shrug in response to the story.

STAEHLIA And why exactly do you hu-maihns find the phrase and the character reverential again?

23.2: Robin chuckles lightly, going into a slight bend to the left as she replies with a sense of calm honesty about it.

ROBIN

Kind of a long story, honestly. Part of it’s gotta do with a few of the actors who played the character…and the symbolism of the character, too.

23.3: We move to a shot of the cap’n in her quarters, napping and enjoying a good massage amidst the calm before the storm as some rock plays over the speakers.

ROBIN

(Cont., Caption) But really, it’s mostly the symbolism.

23.4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A light blue glow shines on the Madam’s face, causing her to slowly open her eyes while the music continues.

MADAM (curious)

Interesting, and a little weird. They inviting us for a post-battle celebration, Cap? CAPALDI (Off-Panel)

Nay, sadly…

23.5: Cut to Capaldi standing a few steps from her, delivering the news with dread and the first signs of weariness in terms of the battle area.

CAPALDI (Cont.)

Something’s happened at the Palace.

24.1: Cut to the message a short time later, materialized in the palm of Capaldi’s right hand. It’s from one of the intel officers who keep an eye on the Palace. It reads- “Attack on the Palace. Qualg Gray has been kidnapped, taken to custody. We need your help. Now!”

MADAM (Off-Panel)

Huh. No need to debate what we’re doing next, yeah?

CAPALDI (Off-Panel) Aye…

24.2: We move to a shot of the good cap’n in the hallway of the ship with Capaldi walking alongside to the right of the panel view, already strategizing what the next step will be.

CAPALDI (Cont.) Starting planetary scan for the Qualg’s bio-signature, which is gonna take a min. I’m open to any ideas on your end to make it speedier, cap’n.

MADAM (shakes her head)

Mostly parts of ideas. I…

24.3: Madam comes up with an idea a beat later in mid-stride, glancing over at her AI companion to blurt out the brainstorm.

MADAM (Cont.)

We still have access to the O’J’s Intel satellite array? CAPALDI (seeing her point) Yeah. I get what you’re gunning for…that should speed things up nicely! Give me a few minuyats to tap in and I’ll buzz you when I spot ‘em.

MADAM (Bubble 2) Sounds good, Cap!

24.4: Capaldi zips out of the scene a split second later, leaving Madam to continue on her way to the bridge; the meat of the idea still stewing in the good captain’s brain at the same time.

CAPALDI (4Meta Caption) Took me closer to an horut to spot the sizable starship that had been parked a good distance from the fighting. I’d be impressed by the scale of the subterfuge, how it ducked both me and the O’Julanians’...

24.5: We move to a shot of the ship in question out in a barren section of space, which has a similar structure to a cruiseliner but with ⅓ less size.

CAPALDI (4Meta Caption) If another part of me didn’t also get a strange vibe that it was preceding something really shite-tastic heading our way. I believe you hu-mahns call it a bad intuition.

CAPALDI (4Meta Caption 2) Anyway, as I try to keep a level head while searching for ⅓ of the O’Julanian monarchy, I’ll see you back here next time when we find out how this got here, and how we plan to get inside the bett’n thing.
