The Boo-Ya!, Season 2- Issue 7: Part 4.3

Page 23

23.1: We pick up with a close-up on Robin’s face a short time later inside the meeting room, reacting enthusiastically in regards to the full plan they presented.

DYIO PETRO Good to hear. Aren’t you worried about any energy dips? I’ve heard it’s something that’s a pain in the arse for ya.

ROBIN (nods her head) It is. But Stahl and I have developed a good routine any time I have to do something exhausting to keep me upright. I can stock up for an hour or two quite easy.

DYIO PETRO (Bubble 2)

Did you happen to stash an aptitude for flying along with those canisters over there? ‘Cause it’d take that moreso than those fancy new muscles of yours.

ROBIN

(Bubble 2) Haha…no. But I’ve played the flight sim a few times on the Holodeck. I think that should be enough to keep ‘em occupied long enough for Capaldi to do his magic.

23.2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The Airperson takes a few steps away to the panel right direction, holding in a belly laugh regarding the human woman’s confidence.

DYIO PETRO I dig the optimism. I’ve been in enough proper firefights with TASF battle cruisers though to tell you: it ain’t anywhere close to being that simple.

23.3: We move to a graphic of the different types of spacecraft that make up the hierarchy of the TASF, from smallest to largest. Each one shows up in a line on the panel view.

DYIO PETRO (Cont., Caption)

There’s Dooyorts- they’re basically pilotable bombas…

DYIO PETRO (Caption 2) The Ailllen Class Cruisers- they’re smaller and a little more sleeker. They can house one body and a solid smattering of weaponry…

DYIO PETRO (Caption 3) The D-Point Class Cruisers- they’re kinda like the Ailllens, but you can house a pair of bodies in them. You can also fire at multiple targets at the same time…

DAIYO PETRO (Caption 4) And then, of course, there’s those big Armadas that we’ve somehow ducked seeing since this flarking war began.

23.4: Cut back to the Madam chiming in with surprise and puzzlement at the sentence, seeking clarification from the veteran Airperson.

MADAM Wait wait wait, that doesn’t sound right. Weren’t they touting how they were using Armadas over the planet on the first day?

23.5: Dyio shifts their attention back to the good captain with the answer born out of a lot of past experience.

DYIO PETRO Those were Halb Armadas. They look the part, but have only a slice of their big boom. If the Alliance value this place as much as I think, it’s something we should prep for.

23.6: Robin chimes in confidently to the notes of concern from their friend, born for her from a similar earned experience from the past.

ROBIN If one does come, then I’ll kick its bloody arse- with any assist from you guys. ‘Cause at the end of the day…

24.1: At the wheel a short time later, we see Ms. Cartwright at the controls, trying through memory to spot which one starts up.

ROBIN (Cont., Caption) We’re the motherflarking Boo-Ya!

ROBIN

(muttering) Let’s see, if I remember what Ness told me right, the ignition should be somewhere around…

24.2: A few moments later, she spots the representative button and clicks on it…

ROBIN (slightly enthused) There it is!

24.3: The portable cruiser that has been hidden all this time in the cargo area scrapes and grates on the metal floor as it makes its ascent.

MADAM (from the speakers)

Wanna keep the painful grating on my ship to a votbett’n mid?

ROBIN (Off-Panel) Apologies, Cap’n…just getting my legs in!

24.4: Another handful of moments pass, and we see the little ship finally stabilize and take off on its way…

24.5: …to the opened gates and the expanse of space that slowly comes into view in the left-center section of the panel.

CAPALDI (4Meta Caption) Normally, this would be the time where I tease the next issue. But I’ve got my hands full right now, and kinda need every bit of juice I got for what’s about to come. Besides, the setup is kinda easy.

24.6: We see the little escape craft a short time later with the imposing satellite visible in the background of the shot. You can even see a door begin to open in the middle left section where an ominous attacker is set to pop in.

CAPALDI

(Cont., 4Meta Caption)

One big crazy gambit for all the marbles–’nuff said!
