The Boo-Ya!, Season 2- Issue 8: Part 4.1

Page 19

19.1: Action shot of the ship slowly lifting off the platform a short time after she enters; the rush of smoke and flames roaring down on the concrete below, shooting out in each direction as it lifts skyward.

NESSA (Caption) Figure I’ll say it, since you guys aren’t going to: What if the soldier boy’s dead?

19.2: Cut to the whole crew on the bridge of the Boo-Ya! a short time later, discussing the situation Robin and Daiyo dealt with earlier.

NESSA (Cont., “Devil’s Advocate”)

I know it ain’t a guarantee. But we don’t know if the message was live or kinda live. And we’ve seen how much Alliance goons love to squash any semblance of dissent.

STAEHLIA It is a fair worry, especially given the sudden way the message ended.

MADAM If the dudo’s dead, we’ll do some proper avenging. Which I know sounds weird as hells to say about an Alliance grunt, but still true.

19.3: Slight close-up on the good captain turning toward Ms. Cartwright seated in the off-panel left area.

MADAM (Cont.) Speaking of the TA’s Most Wanted, any word on the Qualg’s condition, Rob?

19.4: A two-part set of panels that moves to Robin at the comms desk, glancing back at the Madam and shaking her head.

ROBIN Same as it was just after the news broke, captain- bupkis. But we just got into O’J’s deep space array. So, it’s plausible that might change and we can start to get a proper picture—

19.5: In the second part, a vital message pops up on the screen that derails the young human woman’s train of thought and subsequently answers the big question.

ROBIN (that rock in the gut feeling)

Huh.

MADAM (Off-Panel) What?

19.6: Action shot of Robin a few beats later, throwing the bit of information to her left as she replies with the same vibe on her face that we saw in the previous panel.

ROBIN

Intel peeped a location on Qualg Gray, quicker than I thought it’d be–sending it to the big screen, now.

20.1: Cut to a shot of the main screen showing part of a makeshift compound somewhere in a mountainous, green area somewhere in the north of the planet. You can see the back of the Madam’s head in the lower right portion of the background, looking at the scene.

MADAM

I remember that place. That’s the Bana’dalls, right? Of course, the stuffed shirts would retreat to a vot’bettn mountain-based hideout with their royal quarry. Luckily, a few rounds of standard bombage should be able—

ROBIN (Off-Panel) Actually, there’s a separate bit that could prove a big problema to that plan.

20.2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. The screen changes a few moments later, showing a readout of the coordinates that the Private gave them that place them in the same area many, many metros away from the kidnappers.

MADAM

Yipes…You weren’t kidding!

20.3: Action shot of the good captain pacing to the right, pondering what to do next given the new information.

MADAM (Cont.)

We’re gonna need to press in on foot. The 2-in-1 move should do the trick, albeit deeper than last time. Not sure who to tap in for the op though…

CAPALDI (Off-Panel, from the ceiling) You can count me out. I need a sizable amount of chill time after the harrowing near death on the satellite.

MADAM (Bubble 2)

Few taps ahead of ya there, my friend.

20.4: Cut to Robin raising her hand enthusiastically a few moments later at her station, flashing a slight grin as she speaks.

ROBIN I’ll tag along with the pickup of the Private part, since I was the one they actually contacted. I imagine Day probably feels the same way, right?

20.5: Airperson Petro, meanwhile, shakes their head with a great deal less enthusiasm overall for the suggestion than their compatriot. You can see Nessa partially in the right side of the panel as she chimes in with a comment.

DYIO PETRO Actually, I’d much prefer tagging along with the rescue mission for Qualg Gray. It’s been a prominent point of my Ascension Pact to save a member of the Triarchy from certain death.

NESSA Works for me. Having some more agile backup is probably for the best anyway, in case things get squirrely with some of this dude’s TASShole buddos.

20.6: Back to the Madam, relieved at how things seemed to fall pretty well into place in that regard; her mind just starting to piece up the details of the plan a little more as she speaks.

MADAM Coolio! You and D head off to the shuttle and pick up the Private. We’ll be closing around that area in about thirty-forty minuyats, so no dilly dallying.

CAPALDI (Off-Panel)

I’m picking up some weird portal activity behind us, cap’n…
