The Community, Issue 11: Part 3.3
Page 274 Panel 1: At this point, Aurora is fully invested in what the young person is selling. You can see a smile start to come across her face at this point.
AURORA
(to Seanna) Okay. I--I have a couple of Marvel and Issa Rae stuff to handle first. I can get an interview together by end of week, if that's okay.
Panel 2: Seanna jumps a bit at the offer, trying to steer it toward a more advantageous one.
SEANNA
(slightly urgent, to Aurora) Actually, I--I'd prefer doing it as soon as possible. Tonight, face-to-face. I have the time for it.
Panel 3: Same setting/layout as the first panel. She rolls her eyes at the request, but nonetheless is perfectly fine with it.
AURORA
Alright, a little weird. But I can block out 10 minutes tonight at the office before I leave. What time can you get to L.A.?
Panel 4: We move back to Watkins as this goes on. You can see a flying car start to materialize on the side of the road next to them.
SEANNA
7 or 8 o'clock is pretty plausible, depending on traffic.
Panel 5: Meanwhile, back in Louisville, a crane shot of a bus drives up toward the top corner of the panel view. You can see a little purple flare coming from inside one of the windows.
Caption
(Aurora)
"Alright, see ya then. If you can't make it, feel free to reschedule."
Caption
(Seanna)
"I'll keep that in mind. Though barring the end of the world somehow, I should be there."
Panel 6: Action shot of Jesminder and Winnie stepping off the bus a short time later.
WINNIE
(negotiating, to Jesminder) Once all this is over, please tell me you're gonna show me how to do that spell.
JESMINDER
(addressing Winnie, focused on the compass) Of course. And if your super speedy hand has issues with it, I'll make a magical helper to mimic the same effects.
WINNIE
(Bubble 2) Deal...!
Page 275
Panel 1: Action shot of the two of them walking up the front entrance to the Boys & Girls Club. You can see various parents and children exiting, chatting with one another.
Panel 2: We move to them entering a short time later; music blaring from the speakers off-panel, though Jesminder is still focused squarely on the compass.
WINNIE
(happy sigh) Doja Cat...gotta be a good sign. Right?
JESMINDER
(as she moves to the left) I'll go with hopeful. This way...
Panel 3: Slight close-up on Ms. Borah after a few steps. You can see the bright red glow emanating from the needle on the bottom of her chin; her gaze also up in front of her at where the compass is pointing.
WINNIE
(Off-Panel) That's him?
JESMINDER
(nods, to Winnie) It'd appear so.
Panel 4: Cut to a shot of the target- a seemingly innocent kid in his teens working the front desk. He has a military-style haircut, green eyes, and is dressed in a light blue buttoned up uniform befitting the front desk.
WINNIE
(Off-Panel) He looks as old as my nephew!
Panel 5: We move back to Jes a beat later, looking up from the compass to properly address her friend standing off-panel right.
JESMINDER
(unflinching) Hopefully old enough to know bullshit when it's in front of him.
