The Community, Issue 4: Part 1.2
Page 81
Panel 1: A short time later, the two of them look over at the white board assigning nurses to different rooms on the floor. You can see a few doctors walking out of view to the right of the panel background.
WINNIE
(pleased, to Luan)
Mr. Sipoyo's got out of surgery in one piece.
LUAN
(nod, to Winnie)
A few hours after you clocked out.
WINNIE
(Bubble 2)
How's he holding up?
Panel 2: Cut to an interior shot of Mr. Sipoyo minutes later, watching TV; the entrance door to his room opening.
Caption
(Luan)
"Still a little sleepy from the anesthesia, but pretty much the same overall."
Panel 3: We shift to a shot of Mr. Sipoyo a few moments later, glancing over in his periphery upon noticing the young nurse come in.
MR. SIPOYO
(grins, to Winnie);
Hello there, beautiful...
MR. SIPOYO
(Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 4, Bubble 1)
Quite aware. Just stating what I'd have done in my younger years.
Panel 4: Cut to Winnie, rolling her eyes and sighing at the obvious line; a clipboard gripped in both hands as she speaks.
WINNIE
(courteous/explanatory, to Mr. Sipoyo)
I've told you before, Mr. Sipoyo: I'm only interested in women.
Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A moment later, she snaps into business with a pen in her left hand.
WINNIE
(Cont.)
Anyway...How are you feeling? Any noticeable soreness in your midsection post surgery?
Page 82
Panel 1: Mr. Sipoyo shifts slightly from side to side as he speaks; his right arm looping out of a section of bedsheets as he speaks.
MR. SIPOYO
(shakes his head, to Winnie)
Everything's fine there. No big troubles so far...
Panel 2: Same setting as the previous panel. The layout zooms in slightly on his face a beat later, remembering something that pops in his head.
MR. SIPOYO
(Cont.)
Oh, I did feel a little queasy though about two o'clock this morning.
MR. SIPOYO
(Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 3, Bubble 1) So far, yep. That's gotta be a guhh...
Panel 3: Back to Winnie scribbling the info down on the clipboard while looking over at the patient at the same time.
WINNIE
(clarifying, to Mr. Sipoyo)
Just queasiness, no vomiting?
Panel 4: We move back to Mr. Sipoyo in the same setting/layout as Panel 2. He tips over to the left side of the bed, wharfing over the edge.
Panel 5: Action shot of Ms. Letesha a moment later in mid-stride, stopping at the sight of the puke hitting the ground before she could put something underneath it. You can see the clipboard and pen gripped in her left hand.
WINNIE
(thought bubble)
...Poor dude.
(sighs, studiously)
I'll get the mop.
