The Community, Issue 4: Part 2.3
Page 89
Panel 1: Cut to a shot of Luan with a similarly stacked on PPE a distance from where Winnie was at the end of the previous page. He nods slightly, standing fully upright after connecting one of the tanks nearby.
LUAN
(comforting, to Winnie)
Just a little tickle in my throat...no worries.
Panel 2: Winnie follows suit a few moments later, pulling her attention squarely to the last instructions to connecting the tank she was working on at the end of the previous page.
WINNIE
(warning, to Luan)
You know hospital policy, Lou: If you're feeling sick, go to the tents. I'd rather not have my best friend due 'cause of outdated macho BS.
Panel 3: Action shot of Luan moving on to the next bed as he addresses his friend with a defensive, yet reassuring tone as he speaks.
LUAN
(defensive and reassuring)
After we finish up here, I promise. I...
Panel 4: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. In the middle of his response, the alarm goes off from the ceiling area pulling his attention upward.
TECH
(through the speaker)
Code Orange- Room 305.
Panel 5: Action shot of the two of them running down the hallway in the direction of the room. You can see a few others going down that same direction behind them.
WINNIe & luan
(shared thought bubble)
Please be different. Please be different. Please be different...!
Panel 6: Half hour later, they're standing next to each other watching as the patient passes away; the signal of this being the steady "BEEP!" from the EKG coming in off-panel right.
WINNIE & LUAN
(shared thought bubble)
...Shit!
Panel 7: Slight close-up on Winnie's face a beat later. In her eyes, you can see the level of worry and sadness increasing ever more.
Page 90
Panel 1: Same setting as the last panel of the previous page. The layout widens out slightly, showing in the background part of an operating theater that she was standing in at that precise point in time.
SURGEON
(Off-Panel, to Winnie)
You okay?
Panel 2: Cut to a shot of the surgeon standing next to a garbage can, disposing of contaminated sheets. He's a decade older than Winnie, outfitted in the same top-to-bottom PPE that she is.
SURGEON
(Cont.)
You were off in your own head for a bit. No judgment if you need a minute to recharge.
Panel 3: Back to Ms. Letesha standing in the same place as Panel 1, showing her holding a mop in both hands. She glances over at the surgeon and nods; her face just beginning to shift back to normal functions.
WINNIE
(to Dr. Mokoena)
Just...tired, Dr. Mokoena. I...
Panel 4: Back to Dr. Mokoena a moment after disposing the sheets from Panel 2; the setting and layout similar to that aforementioned panel as well. He chuckles weakly in agreement to the sentiment.
DR. MOKOENA
Right there with you, Nurse Letesha.
Panel 5: Cut to Winnie stepping back inside her apartment at the end of her shift; her clothes soaked with sweat, along with her face. You can see a noticeable level of exhaustion and sickness on her face.

(Cont., Dr. Mokoena)
"The best we can do is push through, and hope those in power can find a way to get us out to the other side of this."
Caption
5:30 A.M. (After the completion of her third straight 12 hour shift)
Panel 6: Action shot of her landing face first a few moments later onto the couch. You can see part of the light gray rug and coffee table to the right of the panel view.
