The Community, Issue 6: Part 4.3
Page 154 Panel 1: We move to a shot of her reading the message a few moments later; the setting/layout similar to the end of the previous page. The hope the young/old woman has her optimism tampered slightly by what she's reading.
JESMINDER
(half grin, thought bubble) Yes- I got it! No job offer though, and they don't want me to walk at graduation 'cause of the...breaking news. Still calling it a win though.
Panel 2: A two-part set of panels that follows on her a beat later, beginning to place her phone back inside her purse as she comes to a stop at a crosswalk.
JESMINDER
(Cont., thought bubble) I should head back to the dorm, and try to relax: take a shower, do--anything to take my mind off whatever unpleasant crappery's coming my way...
Panel 3: In the second part, the phone starts to ring in the middle of her thought; her right hand drifting down underneath to catch it.
JESMINDER
(surprised) SHIT!
Panel 4: From the side, we see her take a look at the screen for the first time to see who sent the message.
JESMINDER
That's the Daily Mail. And...
Panel 5: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. Before she could react to the first one, another set of rings filter out from the phone.
JESMINDER
(Cont., with dread) That's ITV- the BBC- the Independent- the Guardian...onward comes the flood.
Panel 6: Action shot of Ms. Gupta a few moments later, placing the phone back in her purse just as the lights on the crosswalk turn green.
JESMINDER
Should probably plan how to deal with that. After the shower...and the massive bottle of whiskey!

Panel 1: Later that evening, in her dorm, Jes is placing some clothes into a suitcase on top of her bed. She still has the same ponderous look on her face as the end of the previous page.

Later That Night
Panel 2: As the young/old woman turns around, Celia emerges in a cloud of purple smoke, sending her back and bumping into the side of the bed.
JESMINDER
(startled) GAH...Celia! What the hell?!
Panel 3: The setting settles down compared to the previous panel; Jesminder to the left, Celia to the right. You can see the frustration come over Ms. Gupta's face as she speaks.
JESMINDER
(Cont., to Celia) Do you know the level of shit you've placed on my--?!
CELIA
(interjecting, hurried; to Jesminder) I know the timing's not great. But I need your help.
JESMINDER
(Bubble 2)
What kind of help?
Panel 4: Slight close-up on Celia reaching into her left trouser pocket to quickly pull something out to show her. You can see a little section of the dorm in the background behind her.
CELIA
You remember my stunt at Whitehall a week ago?
JESMINDER
(Off-Panel) ...Bloody hard not to, at this point!
CELIA
(Bubble 2) Fair point. The company I was protesting happens to be owned by one of the largest VC firms in Brazil. Their CEO, Hector Costa, is a big contributor to President Sousa's re-election campaign.
Jes nods at the statement, understanding the hidden sentiment behind the move while still puzzled about the whole point.
JESMINDER
I've read about him- truly doing the work of the gods! Not sure where my help would be necessary though.
Panel 5: Action shot of Celia a beat later, handing over the folded piece of paper from her pocket; the setting and layout similar to Panel 4 of the previous page.
CELIA
(explanatory) A couple days ago, I was coming back home from a policy meeting when this was tacked onto my door.
Page 156
Panel 1: Cut to a shot of the unfolded piece of paper in Jesminder's hands as she silently skims it over. At the top of the page is a couple of photos of Celia inside the Parliamentary floor doing her stunt and another earlier one in western Brazil, and underneath it is a short statement that reads: "Eu sei que você é la dedo Medio ... interfere em nossas operações novamente e nós acabamos com você. - Sr. Costa"
Caption
(Cont., Celia)
"Given you probably don't read Portuguese, I'll simply it a bit- Mr. Costa, or someone associated with him, is targeting me and my mates..."
Panel 2: Back to a shot of Celia; the setting and layout similar to the end of the previous page. She has a worried and nervous expression on her face as she speaks.
CELIA
(Cont., to Jesminder) And I could use that boss magic of yours as backup.
Panel 3: We move back to Jesminder in the same spot we left her in in the previous page. After hearing the story, the young/old woman appears intrigued and a little bit excited by the idea.
JESMINDER
(playful smile, to Celia) I'm in! I could use a face or ten to punch. First off, you're buying me dinner. And then...
Panel 4: Cut to a shot of a tall man in a penthouse with a dark beard and equally dark slicked back hair, dressed in a bespoke pinstriped suit- MR. HECTOR COSTA. He's on the phone with someone; a drink in his left hand.
Caption
(Cont., Jesminder)
"telling me more about who this Hector Costa dude is."
MR. COSTA
(on the phone in English, to Walsh) Yes, sir. The message has been sent...My guess? Probably a day or two before she blows up. Then we'll sweep her up.
Panel 5: On the other end, we see Walsh with a VR headset resting underneath his right arm and wearing workout clothes; his arms and face covered in sweat as well as the upper half of his skinny body.
MR. COSTA
(Cont., from Walsh's Bluetooth earpiece) Just in time for your presentation up there with the American D.o.D.
WALSH
(grins, to Mr. Costa) You have your government onside for all this?
MR. COSTA
(Bubble 2) We're sweeping up a massive headache of his in an election year. We could carve up her body afterward and that vainglorious putz won't say a word against us.
Panel 6: Action shot of the CEO heading over to the console to place his headset on. You can see his grin start to shift toward a more evil one in terms of the last part of Costa's statement.
WALSH
(cryptic) Very good to know...boa sorte para você!
