The Community, Issue 7: Part 3.1

Page 169 Panel 1: We move back to Winnie zipping out of view off-panel right just before Celia could deliver the first skeletal shaking punch.

WINNIE

(in vibration, to Celia) Whoa, hold on one mo...

Panel 2: Cut to a shot of a security guard's station near the front of the compound. You can see a pad of paper and a pen being snagged off of a desk without eliciting the attention of the guard watching TV at that moment.

Panel 3: Same setting/layout as Panel 1. With pen and paper in hand, she starts to draw something; her eyes glancing up toward Celia's direction in case of coming punches.

WINNIE

(trying to be reassuring) I said "sent!" That was before I...

Panel 4: Before she can finish her thought, she leaps away from a rushing Celia before getting hit while still trying to draw.

WINNIE

(Cont., going back to her though) ...before I realized what Mr. Costa was planning...he and the American billionaire- Alex Walsh!

Panel 5: Back on her feet again, she straightens herself up with the last bit of her explanation; the drawing finished.

WINNIE

(Cont.) I was hoping you and your associate might help me.

Panel 6: Action shot of Celia a few moments later taking the pad from her with a look of slight unease in her eyes. You can see the back of Winnie to the right side of the panel view.

CELIA

(to Winnie) I'm willing to here ya out. But it'd have to be really good information to get me to help you.

Panel 1: A few moments later, Celia sees the words quickly scrawled out from Winnie; her attitude shifting toward instant dread over what it represents.

CELIA

(Cont., pleasantly surprised; to Winnie) Okay. I'll get you to our friend now.

Panel 2: Back at the party, meanwhile, Jesminder is having a lovely time with Maxine and her friends; the twinkle of the Christmas music playing in the background. Also in the background is a few of the other partygoers dancing and chatting.

JESMINDER

(to Maxine) The same factors that fueled your "Blue Wave" here in 2020 are absolutely applicable in the UK. Discontent with the Conservatives, frayed feelings from the pandemic, an economy still getting back on its feet. That's extremely ripe territory for Labour to rise like they did in the '90s.

MAXINE

(countering, to Jesminder) Except for one: your Labour party's full of Socialists. It's been decades since the Brits have been thirsting for it.

Panel 3: Slight close-up on Ms. Gupta a beat later, raising her glass of champagne to take a drink as she speaks.

JESMINDER

(fires back confidently) They still have eyes, don't they? They saw how the government bounced from one policy to another without any type of a plan. For the past couple of years, they've seen what a good, well run liberal government here can do. Why wouldn't they want to push for the same thing for themselves?

Panel 4: Maxine flashes a bright grin at the comment after taking a sip from her glass which drifts back down to her side.

MAXINE

A fair point, skillfully made. I see the makings of a great politician...!

(Bubble 2; reacting to Panel 5, Bubble 1) Hahaha...

Panel 5: Same setting/layout as Panel 3. As she takes a sip, Jes flashes a smile of her own in response.

JESMINDER

(casual shrug)

Eh, it's just how we Borahs operate!

Panel 6: Same setting/layout as Panel 4. Her laughter is interrupted by her phone ringing; her gaze shifting down to her purse.

MAXINE

Must be a work thing- one moment...
