The Community, Issue 8: Part 3.3
Page 198 Panel 1: Yo-Yo moves back to the electronic device, taking one last look at the code as she ponders the question.
YO-YO
(Cont. thinking, to Jesminder) Give me a week, week and a half- I should be able to build what you're looking for.
Panel 2: Same setting/layout as the previous panel. A split second later, she looks up in Ms. Borah's direction; her mind shifting to the payment stage.
YO-YO
(Cont.) Now, on a different note- let's talk payment...
Panel 3: Jes glances over at the woman's eyes, sensing what she's about to say before she says it. You can see by the courteous smile on the young/old woman's face that it's an acceptable price.
JESMINDER
(confident, to Yo-Yo) I'm more than happy to accommodate whatever price you're looking for.
Panel 4: A two-part set of panels that jumps to later in the day to Yo-Yo's apartment. A man in slacks and a light blue polo shirt walks up, carrying a couple of bags of food in both hands.
Caption
(Winnie)
"I'll say what everyone else's been thinking- what happens if Walsh or one of his goons spots us before Yo-Yo's done?"
Caption
(Celia)
"I'm not that worried. Her security apparatus makes Duck Duck Go look like Windows 95. Even the most sophisticated supercomputer would take a century to cut through."
Panel 5: In the second part, the deliveryperson is surprised by the presence of a massive Amazon warrior made of energy and decked out in armor; the top of her head reaching the ceiling.
Caption
(Cont., Celia)
"We should be in pretty good shape till she's done...fingers crossed."
AMAZON
(to the deliveryperson, translated from Portuguese) You have 10 seconds to announce your intention or face severe consequences.
Panel 6: Slight close-up on the deliveryperson, placing the bags of food in front of the door. You can see the clear look of fear on their face, looking over at the energy woman as they do their work.
Caption
(Marta)
"Worst comes to worst, you guys got us!"

Panel 1: Cut to a shot of Marta in her kitchen, sorting through a couple of fast food bags from Giraffas. You can see Amelia partially to the right of the panel view; a plate already in her left hand.
MARTA
(Cont. enthusiastically, to the group) We don't have superpowers like you guys--
AMELIA
(jumps on Marta's thought, to group) --But we've made navigating crap storms an art form.
MARTA
(Bubble 2; directed at Celia, translated from Tukano) Haha, that we have...remember the protest a few years back at the Vale mine?
Panel 2: We move to a shot of Celia with a beer in hand; her cheeks turning a light shade of red as she pictures the story once more.
CELIA
(slightly embarrassed, to Marta; translated from Tukano) How can I forget? I could see little bits of booze and burger meat shooting out of the megaphone.
Panel 3: Amelia pops in a beat later, placing the large plate of food in front of a fascinated Winnie.
AMELIA
(continuing the story, to everyone else) Marta stepped in with a thoroughly improvised rant on environmental justice for nearly half an hour while I pulled Cee aside with coffee.
WINNIE
(curious, to Amelia) That must have been a considerably difficult thing to do.
Panel 4: Slight close-up on Amelia's face a beat later, chuckling and shaking her head at the statement with a matter-of-fact look on her face.
AMELIA
(explanatory) It was fairly easy for me, actually. Then again, Celia was a good 3-4 inches shorter than she is now.
Panel 5: Jes and Winnie look over at Celia with surprise at the revelation. The young Brazilian, meanwhile, is calmer and more blase by the development.
CELIA
(to Jesminder and Winnie) What? Was I supposed to fit in my full life story before or after every time people have tried to arrest or kill us?
