The Community, Issue 9: Part 4.2
Page 228 Panel 1: We move to a wide shot of the convention floor stocked with hundreds of people and vendors. You can see a big banner near the top center of the panel view which reads, "Convention of American Police Departments 2023."
Caption
(Cont., Violet)
"Welcome to CopCon."
Panel 2: Cut to Amelia on the ground floor a short time later, walking and taking a look at the different vendors; a look of masked disgust on her face.
AMELIA
(thought bubble) Wonder how many of these pigs have dead black and brown kids on their consciences...dude! Stay on topic.
Panel 3: We shift to a side shot of the young woman, searching through her purse for something a moment later. You can see one of the vendors selling customizable body cameras.
AMELIA
(Cont., thought bubble) What did Jes say this guy looked like?
Panel 4: Cut to a shot of an approximate of the drawing of the guy in question; to the side a list of the qualities- bald, dark beard, kinda chubby, 30s or 40s. At the bottom of said note is his name- LEONARD.
Panel 5: Same setting/layout as Panel 3. Satisfied by the written explanation, she places the note back into her purse and continues looking around as before.
AMELIA
(thought bubble) Oh, right...not the best description. I mean, that well describes most of the people in here.
Panel 6: We jump to a short time later at the Fisk-Tarleton booth; Amelia seated in the middle of the shot. You can see a couple of people on either side, handing out fliers to passersby.
Caption
(Cont., Amelia)
"With my cover, shouldn't take long for this Sanderson guy to pop up naturally."
Page 229
Panel 1: Same setting/layout as the last panel of the previous page. A few hours of nothingness pass by, and the hopeful look on the young woman's face has faded slightly; a grumble emanating from her stomach.
Caption
Few Hours Later
Panel 2: Slight close-up on her a couple of beats later. She starts to get up from her chair, glancing around at her "co-workers" as she speaks.
AMELIA
(to the "co-workers") Anyone want anything from the In-N-Out out front?
Panel 3: Cut to a shot of the workers just as she asks; a general lack of care evident in each of their faces that denotes their answer without speaking.
Panel 4: Back to Amelia standing just as she's about to turn to the right; the setting and layout similar to Panel 2. She shrugs at the non-answer answer.
AMELIA
Alright...
(thought bubble) Probably for the best. Didn't pack that much money with me anyway.
Panel 5: We move to a shot of a long line moments later at the In-N-Out situated there. You can see the back of the young woman in the middle of said line.
Panel 6: Close-up on her a short time later; the line moving ever so slightly compared to the previous panel. She looks to camera upon hearing the sound of commotion nearby.
LEONARD
(Off-Panel) Second-degree murder...that fucking cunt!
